✨️ Meet the Artists: Nia Adé ✨️

Born in Charleston, SC, Nia Adé began her dance training at the age of five at Walltown Children’s Theatre in Durham, North Carolina. After moving to Charlotte in 2017, she joined Baran Dance Company as an apprentice and trained with the company for five years. She has attended and studied dance at Central Piedmont Community College as well as The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Currently based in Atlanta, GA, with an undying interest and love for somatics, choreographic processes and the exploration of the many facets and realms in which dance exists and changes form, Nia remains dedicated to the ongoing task of unveiling both societal and personal truths through movement investigation and inquiry. 🫀

💫 I’M INSPIRED BY emotion and sensation. The humanness and universal nature of those two things is something that I find truly beautiful.

💫 I FIND PURPOSE IN translating the meaning and discovering the significance of movement alongside other dance artists. It could be something so small that completely changes or shifts something internally, and makes you feel deeply. It is a physical and visual realization that sparks so much excitement.

💫 WHAT MAKES ME COME ALIVE is engaging in movement out in nature. I love observing how everything is always rippling out of each other, and letting my body respond in tandem.

✨️ Meet the Artists: Natalie Lutman ✨️

Natalie Lutman is a multifaceted dancer and artist currently attending Shenandoah University. She has performed multiple shows with the Alabama Repertory Dance Theatre at the University of Alabama, including works choreographed by Rhea Speights, Mary Roberts, JaMorris Rivers, and George Staib. She has trained with the Joffrey Ballet School, Giordano Dance Chicago, and staibdance. 🪽

💫 I’M INSPIRED BY others. Everyone is an artist in some way, even if they don't realize it. I am inspired by other dancers, friends, family, and strangers.

💫 I FIND PURPOSE IN telling stories through movement. I feel honored and privileged when artists entrust me with telling their stories through dance.

💫 WHAT MAKES ME COME ALIVE is pushing myself beyond what I think I can do. I am excited and thrilled by working as hard as I can to achieve a goal.

✨️ Meet the Artists: Laura Anne Kay ✨️

Laura Anne Kay is a dancer and choreographer from Salem, Virginia, who trained in classical ballet and contemporary styles before attending the University of South Carolina on a dance scholarship, where she earned a B.A. in Dance Performance and Choreography. During her time there, she worked with companies including the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Co., Complexions Contemporary Ballet, and Joffrey Ballet Chicago, and attended the American Dance Festival in 2023 and 2024. Now based in Atlanta, she has performed with Unbound Dance Company and the Atlanta Contemporary Dance Company, and is excited by collaboration, choreographing, and investigating how classical vocabulary can be expanded into new, innovative movement pathways. 🌀

💫 I AM INSPIRED BY nature, music, literature, and language, and I'm fascinated by the body and what it's capable of.

💫 I FIND PURPOSE IN connecting with other people and seeing the impact I've made on my community. I find purpose in making people feel valued and loved, and being a part of something much bigger than myself. I think everyone wants to make the world a better place, and the most accessible way for me to do that is to put effort into how I treat the people around me and try to help as much as I can.

💫 WHAT MAKES ME COME ALIVE is exhaustion, as odd as that may sound. I love pushing my limits, and I feel the most alive when I am in an environment that pushes me, both physically and mentally.

✨️ Meet the Artists: Khadijah Smith ✨️

Khadijah Smith is pursuing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance: Choreography from Coker University in Hartsville, South Carolina. A New Orleans native, Khadijah has performed the choreography of Eli Motley, James Morrow, Cesar G. Salinas (Giordano Dance Chicago), and KM Dance Project. Khadijah was a member of Coker Repertory Dance Company and has most recently presented her piece, “Stained Glass Angels,” at the 2026 ACDA Southeast conference in Gainesville, GA. She hopes to pursue a career in screenwriting, concert, and commercial dance before opening an arts education center. 💞

💫 I’M INSPIRED BY all forms of art and how cultural context and experience shapes our movement.

💫 I FIND PURPOSE IN God, authenticity, and human connection.

💫 WHAT MAKES ME COME ALIVE Freedom of movement and performing. I think the connection between the audience and dancer during a live performance is so special. It is a transcendent experience for me.

✨️ Meet the Artists: Grace Dougherty ✨️

Grace Dougherty is a dancer, performer, choreographer, teacher, and advocate. She began her training at The Dance Company and is currently seeking her BFA in Dance at Brenau University. Her performances have allowed her to perform in Pearce Auditorium at Brenau University, The Venue, Riverside Military Academy, Mule Camp, and Disney World. 🌱

💫 I AM INSPIRED BY artists who take risks. Taking a risk can be one of the scariest choices, yet it always leads to something new. The more risks taken by artists, the more boundaries broken, and the more change occurs. I’m inspired by work that challenges expectations and embraces the unknown, because it reflects a willingness to be vulnerable and honest.

💫 I FIND PURPOSE IN growth. Growth fuels me every day and pushes me to better myself. I never want to be the same person or artist I was the day before. This mindset drives my commitment to training, creativity, and self-reflection, both in and outside of the studio. I view every challenge and new experience as an opportunity to evolve.

💫 WHAT MAKES ME COME ALIVE is connection. It’s part of the reason I love dance so much; dance allows for connection without words. Whether it is connecting with an audience, fellow dancers, or the intention behind the movement, those moments create a sense of purpose and happiness that is unmatched. It is in those connections that I feel the most present, expressive, and aligned with who I am as an artist.

✨️ Meet the Artists: Elizabeth Steele ✨️

Elizabeth Steele is an aerial and dance movement artist from Atlanta, GA, who trained at the University of Georgia Dance Department, where she discovered her passion for aerial and began exploring where the worlds of circus and contemporary dance intersect. She attended the American Dance Festival and has trained with companies including Pilobolus, David Dorfman Dance, and Diavolo | Architecture in Motion, deepening her appreciation for extreme physicality and collaboration. Through these experiences, she has continued to cultivate an endless curiosity about movement and the human body's expressive potential. 🌪️

💫 I AM INSPIRED BY everything that can be made possible through the human form and by the connections created through shared expression.
💫 I FIND PURPOSE IN giving the body’s stored potential energy somewhere to go through movement.

💫 WHAT MAKES ME COME ALIVE is that through exploring my movement interests, I’m able to express and share the deepest truths of who I am.

✨️ Meet the Artists: Bobbie Akin ✨️

Bobbie Akin is an Atlanta-based dancer, choreographer, and teaching artist who graduated magna cm laude from the University of Kentucky with dual degrees in Dance and Integrated Strategic Communication. She has performed at festivals including the Dumbo Dance Festival and Detroit Dance City Festival, trained internationally at the B12 Dance Festival in Berlin, and most recently danced with Dance Canvas in its 2026 Annual Concert. She is excited to join ImmerseATL this summer and looks forward to the artistic growth, discovery, and relationships the experience will bring! 🪼

💫 I AM INSPIRED BY the stories artists carry, and the courage it takes to pursue a life in the arts despite uncertainty. There is something deeply moving about people who devote themselves to a craft because they feel called to create.

💫 I FIND PURPOSE IN the process of growth, which often requires struggle. In moments of challenge, I become more aware of my habits as both a dancer and a person. Learning when to break those patterns or build from them has become an essential part of my artistic development.

💫 WHAT MAKES ME COME ALIVE is the ritual of making my espresso every morning. It gives me a moment of stillness before the day begins and helps me feel grounded, focused, and ready for the day. No matter how busy life gets, this small routine always brings me comfort and joy.
