It wasn’t the finish we wanted in the City Championship game, but we are proud of Petaluma Police and the baseball they’ve played over the past week and a half that got them this far.

Police are not done, however! They will be participating in the District 35 Tournament of Champions next week, which is another single-elimination bracket. It is hard on pitching, with games every day. They drew a first-round bye, which makes their first game on Tuesday at Murphy Field.

The Championship has been set! V1 Petaluma Police knocked off N5 SJLA in a close 3-2 game on Monday at Murphy Field. Over at Carter Major, N2 Golden State Lumber decisively passed N1 Lombardi's by a score of 8-1.

After squeaking into the Bracket Round as the seventh seed with one win and by 7 hundredths of a decimal point in the Runs Allowed Average (1.111 to 1.188 of A5 Marin Mechanical), Police have scored only 5 runs through two games. However, they have also allowed the fewest (3) on their way to their two bracket wins.

National's Golden State Lumber won three games in the Pool Round, but still moved on as the fourth seed due to the highest RAA of the four undefeated teams, allowing 1.2 runs per inning. They then had a close 7-6 win to start the bracket, and was able to continue strong to defeat the first seeded Lombardi's, who had also earned a bye from their Pool Play success.

Now the two teams go head-to-head under the lights at Lucchesi Major Field to determine the 2026 Petaluma Major Division City Champion! The game starts at 7:30pm and temperatures could get to the mid-50s by the end of the game, so bundle up!

Preceeding the Championship game will be the Third-Place game. In that matchup, Lombardi's will face SJLA at 5:00pm. It will certianly be a great warm-up for the championship game.
