Help Central Illinois Riding Therapy Keep Moving Forward!

We are urgently looking for donations to help purchase a “new to us” truck!

Our trusted truck has broken down, and without it, Central Illinois Riding Therapy (CIRT) is at a standstill. This isn't just a vehicle—it's the lifeline that allows us to safely transport our program horses to vet appointments, clinics, and community events, while also carrying volunteers and riders who make our therapeutic programs possible every single day.

If you prefer to donate directly or by cash/check, please contact the office at CIRT.

Every dollar helps us towards our goal of a new truck. We are grateful for any help you can offer.

♥️ A Day Worth Celebrating 🐴

Today, seven incredible riders from Central Illinois Riding Therapy competed at the Tazewell County 4-H Horse Show. The temperatures were high, but so were the smiles, determination, and encouragement that filled the arena.

Every rider stepped into the arena with courage and confidence, showing us that success isn’t measured only by ribbons—it’s found in every new skill, every challenge overcome, and every proud smile at the end of a ride. We couldn’t be more proud of each and every one of them.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our amazing volunteers. You walked beside our riders, cheered them on, and gave your time with joyful hearts. Your kindness and dedication make moments like today possible, and we are endlessly grateful.

And, of course, we couldn’t forget our four-legged teammates. Sophie and Daphne were patient, steady, and full of heart, taking wonderful care of our riders. They truly are partners in changing lives.

❤️ Every ride builds confidence. Every volunteer makes a difference. Every horse changes a life.

🐴 Horse Spotlight: Meet Sophie! 🖤🤍

This week we’re shining the spotlight on Sophie (Sophisticated Colors), one of our wonderful therapy horses!

At 26 years young, Sophie is a beautiful black-and-white Tennessee Walking Horse who has quite the story. She traveled from Illinois to Florida and back to Illinois before finding her home with us, where she’s been a treasured member of our barn family for about 8 years.

Sophie absolutely loves to move! Her smooth gait makes her a fantastic partner for many of our riders, especially those who are working toward greater confidence and independence in the saddle. She helps riders develop balance, decision-making, and riding skills while making every lesson enjoyable.

When she’s not working, you’ll often find Sophie spending time with her best friend, Daphne. 💕

We are so grateful to The Carl Harnish Family for leasing Sophie to our program. Because of their generosity, Sophie continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of our riders.

Thank you, Sophie, for every step, every smile, and every bit of confidence you help build. We’re so lucky to have you at CIRT ❤️
