East Palo Alto Tennis and Tutoring - EPATT EPATT is a free after school program that facilitates college & career readiness for local students.

Since 1988, EPATT has been impacting the lives of thousands of East Palo Alto and eastern Menlo Park youth. EPATT’s success has been accomplished through a comprehensive after-school program based at Stanford University featuring one-on-one academic tutoring by Stanford student volunteers, tennis and fitness instruction, life skills education, and family coaching for parents. EPATT also offers sum

mer programs in East Palo Alto and at Stanford. EPATT creates a dynamic and supportive environment that fosters respect, responsibility and teamwork. EPATT helps dissolve cultural barriers, graduating “ambassadors of change” who return to their communities with optimism, confidence and self-respect.

🎾✨ First Swing Stories ✨🎾

When students invited their favorite teachers to the court, something special happened. Through the USTA Red Ball experience, teachers stepped outside their comfort zones, embraced a growth mindset, and became role models in action.

From first swings and big smiles to ice cream, pan dulce, and unforgettable moments, this was more than tennis. It was a lesson in courage, learning, and connection.

🎓✨ From EPATT student to college graduate, congratulations to Brianna!

Brianna was part of the EPATT family for over 4 years, and this past weekend she graduated from California State University, Chico with a B.S. in Cellular & Molecular Biology 🧬👏

We are incredibly proud of her hard work, dedication, and this amazing accomplishment as she steps into her next chapter. Thank you to the Luna family for allowing us to be a small part of Brianna’s educational journey.

Alex Aldama started at EPATT in sixth grade, with 20 missing assignments and mostly Ds. This month, he stood on a stage at Stanford and told his story to education leaders from across the country. His message?

“High-impact tutoring combined with engaged, motivated, and well-equipped parents can change the game for any student.”

Alex is living proof that change is possible. And now he’s back at EPATT making sure more students get that same chance. 🎓❤️
