A Beautiful Story of Health and Healing!

In the summer of 2025, Courtney and Dan’s five year old son, Ollie, started praying on his own for God “to send us a baby.” Little did young Ollie know that his mom had recently taken a pregnancy test and his prayers had been answered! Eight or so months later, Ollie’s little brother Theo entered the world to the delight of all!
Bringing Theo into the world took a team of people, including Dr. Delia Larrauri and the staff at the Gianna Center. For prior to Baby Theo’s birth last April, his parents had tragically suffered the loss of five additional children due to miscarriage. Neither Courtney's former OB-GYN, nor the fertility clinic specialist Courtney saw, were able to prevent the miscarriages from happening.
Providentially, around Christmas of 2024, Courtney saw a Facebook post by the wife of an acquaintance extolling the benefits of Natural Procreative (NaPro) Technology. A quick Google search led her to the Gianna Center of Philadelphia, where she was seen a few weeks later. Immediately, Courtney knew things were different.
According to Courtney, the fertility clinic at which she had been a patient had “a very sterile environment” in which “fifteen women were seen at a time.” Blood work and an ultrasound were always taken by “a new tech.” Courtney never saw her real doctor in person, but rather, a “new doctor training under the [actual] doctor.” In fact, Courtney “never really talked to him.” She “passed him in the hallway once,” and he didn’t act like he knew her.
At the Gianna Center, Courtney found a caring staff, who cared deeply about Courtney’s history — so much so that Courtney’s husband Dan left their first visit inspired and excited.
When Courtney and Dan first met Dr. Larrauri, they couldn’t believe she spent an hour talking to them face-to-face doing a full evaluation and suggesting options. Courtney was impressed that Dr. Larrauri including them in deciding the care plan saying: “Here’s what the research says. This is what I think. What do you think?"
In the spring of 2025, Dr. Larrauri told Courtney to “go ahead and try.” The following month, Courtney’s pregnancy test came back positive. The care provided and/or recommended by the Gianna Center included: an ultrasound every week for four weeks to make sure Courtney and her baby were both doing well and testing Courtney’s progesterone level every two weeks to make sure it was rising appropriately. When Courtney’s progesterone level proved too low, progesterone shots were prescribed up to the 36th week of pregnancy.
In the end, Courtney’s decision to follow up on that Facebook post and put her trust in something called NaPro Technology delivered big time (pun intended!) Little Theo made a happy and healthy entrance into the world at 7 lbs, 4 oz in the spring of 2026, just in time to add special moments to his family’s pre-planned, six-week summer camping trip!
Courtney joyfully relates: “Theo" means "gift from God" and he is one of the greatest gifts our family has ever received!
