Hey friends and family! It’s February and I’ve been in an absolute funk because I’m missing our girl so stinking much. I can’t believe she will be 6 years old on Tuesday and will be in heaven for 6 years on the 26th. I find when I’m overcome with my grief and sadness one of the best things to do is help others. That’s where you come in. We are still trying to grow Ellie’s Impact and that takes time and money. We want to help as many grieving families as possible when they reach out to us. We are asking you to consider donating $6 for Ellington’s 6th birthday. You are absolutely welcome to donate more but if you have $6 extra dollars to contribute we would appreciate it so much. We will be taking donations between now (February 15th and February 26th, Ellie’s heaven day.)
Let’s see how much we can raise for grieving families between now and then! There are lots of ways to donate! ❤️ February is National Heart Month! ❤️

At Ellie's Impact we are excited to kick off National Heart Month by raising awareness for Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) Awareness Week, which takes place from This month is dedicated to recognizing the incredible journey of children and adults living with congenital heart disease and highlighting the importance of public awareness surrounding these heart conditions.

During this meaningful month your contribution will:

- **Provide hope** for families of CHD survivors and comfort to those who have lost a loved one.
- **Inform** the general public about the symptoms of CHDs to help save lives.
- **Affirm the need** for increased funding for researchers and medical professionals, improving the outlook for CHD patients.

The Heart Center and **Kids at Heart Program** encourage you to join us for our virtual and in-person events! Together, we can raise awareness about CHDs and connect with others on a similar journey.

💕It’s Giving Tuesday! Here at Ellie’s Impact we ask that you consider our nonprofit for your Giving Tuesday donation. Here are some ways your donation will be used. 🦋

We want to be able to offer monetary help along with emotional and spiritual support and guidance to fellow grieving families! That’s where YOU can help! We have set up different ways to be able to donate directly to us! We have CashApp, Venmo, PayPal, Apple Pay and just good old fashioned mailing of a check! Every cent that is donated will be helping with things such as “grief groceries”, did you know that after we got home from Gainesville, someone in our tribe of friends and family fed us for 42 days straight, when you lose a child the last thing you think about is what you are going to eat every night. 🫶🏼 Your contribution will help with groceries, meal trains, DoorDash, etc for grieving families. We also want to allow for more time off of work for parents, we will help contribute to paying household bills so that the parents are able to stay home for longer periods of time so they can grieve properly. Another example is helping with burial expenses, funerals, headstones, burial plots, etc are not cheap and oftentimes there is no life insurance for the child. We also help with Medical bills, we had over 1 million dollars of medical bills from Ellie girls 8 days of life. These examples and so many more are things for families that will just make the worst time of their life a little easier. If you feel led to help us in our journey, below are the ways to donate! I was looking back on my timeline from 6 years ago and we were headed home from Gainesville from one of Ellie’s first appointments. We had not gotten very good news and mom sent me this devotional. It included Romans 8:28, I feel like that it is so special because 6 years later it is apart of our mission statement.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose". Roman 8:28

From our grieving family to yours, today and everyday we remember our children who are not here with us on this beautiful Thanksgiving holiday. The missing chair at the kids table, the plate left untouched, the missing pitter patter of feet as you prepare your Thanksgiving meal. We are here for you. Please know that grief and gratitude can coexist. We love you all and are so thankful for everyone who supports us so we may support other bereaved families. Happy first day of Fall from all of us at Ellie's Impact. We hope that your day is filled with pure joy and happiness!

Let's remember as October approaches that tens of thousands of families across the United States are devastated each year by the death of their child. In 1988, US President Ronald Reagan declared October as a month to recognize the unique grief of bereaved parents in an effort to demonstrate support to the many families who have suffered such a tragic loss. Promoting awareness increases the likelihood that grieving families will receive understanding and support, but also results in improved education and prevention efforts which may ultimately reduce the incidence of these tragedies. A huge thank you to everyone who donated to Ellie’s Impact in memory of my papaw. In lieu of flowers we knew papaw would be honored to have people donate money in his memory to our girls nonprofit. Every time we would come home he would slide money in my hand and tell me he was proud of what we were doing for other grieving families, that’s just the kind of man he was. It makes my heart smile knowing that Ellie girl met him at the pearly gates and he is up in heaven telling her all about us. ❤️
