TRAC, Trail Riders Access Coalition, was created to support the pubilc's right for equal access to the East Lynn Lake Wildlife Management Area. The Hatfield-McCoy Trail Authority has been looking to expand into Wayne County for several years. TRAC is not against the Hatfield-McCoy Trails. TRAC believes the Hatfield-McCoy trails can be an excellent recreational opportunity. TRAC IS opposed to the
Hatfield-McCoy trails takeover of the East Lynn Lake Wildlife Management Area. A takeover of this area would mean that others who currently use this area would be excluded unless they adhere to the rules governing Hatfield-McCoy trails. Last August, Evan Jenkins secured significant funding to expand the Hatfield-McCoy Trails.See the following article. https://evanjenkins.house.gov/media-center/press-releases/rep-jenkins-announces-hatfield-mccoy-trails-grant
Since then, the Wayne County Commission has also signed on to the East Lynn takeover. Recently, Don Perdue, a member of the Wayne County Economic Development Authority, was appointed as a board member to to the Hatfield-McCoy Recreation Authority Board. http://www.waynecountynews.com/news.htm
In addition, several news outlets have featured stories on the new Hatfield-McCoy trails coming to Wayne County. TRAC believes that the Hatfield McCoy Recreation Authority is working as hard as they can to take over the East Lynn Wildlife Management Area as soon as possible. Information TRAC has received indicates that their intention is to take over all roads into the area and all trails within the East Lynn Lake property.
