Reminder and please share! Please rsvp by 9/25 to attend our annual meeting on Oct 3. (Details below) and enjoy this presentation. Bats are the Best!
Keynote: Carrie Szwed

Let us take you into the world of an animal that invokes both fear and fascination – the bat! We will count down all the reasons why bats are simply the coolest, and why they need to be saved! We’ll also discuss the specific work being done at White Memorial to study the wild populations of bats residing in our sanctuary.

Carrie Szwed is the Education Director at White Memorial Conservation Center. Carrie obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Beloit College, followed by a Master’s degree in Environmental Interpretation from SUNY-ESF. Now in her 20th year in the professional field, Carrie loves her role as at WMCC. She hopes she can instill an appreciation for nature in all those she teaches.

Friends of CT State Park Day is this Wednesday March 29 10:00 - 2:00 in the Legislative Office Building Concourse. We would like to introduce you to our coalition of 29 supporting volunteer organizations that work in partnership with the DEEP bringing outside resources to preserve, protect and enhance our state parks and forests. Of primary concern this year is the staffing at our state parks - currently budgeted at 83 full time employees. 83 IS NOT ENOUGH. Learn more at www.FriendsofCtStateParks.org.
