The East Lansing baseball community suffered a tremendous loss last night (7/30/23) with the unexpected passing of Andrew Busch. Andy was a long time member of the East Lansing Baseball Club and served as our club Treasurer. Andy leaves behind a wife and three children. Sooooo....do you want the good news or bad news first? Okay, we'll start with the bad news. It may snow tomorrow. Now the good news - outdoor practices for all ELBC teams will resume tomorrow (4/20/21)!!!

ELBC Pauses Spring Practice for Two-Weeks:

Following the recent messages from Governor Whitmer and ELPS, we will be "pausing" all baseball team activities for the next two weeks. While we believe that with proper precautions outdoor baseball practices can be run safely, we will follow the guidance that has been provided.

We will continue to monitor COVID rates and communicate updates to you in the next two weeks. In the interim, we encourage individual baseball families to continue to prepare for the season with drills from their coach and on their own.

We expect practices will commence Saturday, April 24th and so most teams will only miss three practices as a result of this pause. Prior to that date, the ELBC will provide updated COVID rules for practices/games and additional information regarding rapid antigen testing for 13 and 14 year old players.

Do you like math? Me either. The bad news is that age-determination rules for 2021 baseball are changing. The good news is that they are much easier to understand!!

The Mason PONY League will use April 30th as the age cutoff date for all ages groups!! So, a player's age eligibility for the 2021 season will be determined by that player's age as of 4/30/2021.
