It was an un-FORE-gettable day at last week's Michigan FFA Foundation/Michigan Corn Golf Outing! It's great to connect with our friends, judge the "Red, White and Birdie" Team Spirit Contest and offer our annual Hole-in-One competition.

Unfortunately, no one took home the $25,000 prize for a Hole-in-One. But congratulations to Herbruck's Poultry Ranch, 2026 Team Spirit Competition winner! Who knew patriotic chicken shirts existed?!

As we wrap up the 2026 Michigan FFA Business & Industry Tour, we extend our sincere thanks to every partner who made today meaningful for our State Officer Team.

Thank you to our partners, AgroLiquid, Michigan Corn, Michigan Agricultural Commodities, and Consumers Energy Foundation, for fueling this day of leadership development and industry exploration.

And thank you to our tour hosts, Gordon Food Service, Country Fresh Dairy, Dairy Farmers of America, Inc., PG Orchards, and Kent County Farm Bureau, for opening your doors, sharing your expertise and investing in Michigan’s next generation of agricultural leaders.

Today’s experiences deepen our officers’ understanding of Michigan’s agriculture, food and natural resources industries and strengthen the relationships that make our mission possible.

We closed out the day with a wonderful dining etiquette dinner with Kent County Farm Bureau at Pietro's. Our State Officer Team practiced professional dining etiquette, networking skills and hospitality while learning directly from Farm Bureau leaders about advocacy, member engagement, and opportunities for collaboration.

Thank you for investing in these young leaders and helping them grow their confidence and professionalism. Experiences like this prepare our officers for the industry conversations and leadership roles ahead.

This afternoon’s visit to PG Orchards gave our State Officer Team a firsthand look at Michigan’s vibrant fruit industry. From orchard management to seasonal labor, technology, fruit storage, nursery management and market trends, students saw how growers balance tradition, innovation and stewardship to produce high‑quality fruit and nursery products for consumers across the region.

Thank you, PG Orchards, for sharing your expertise and giving our officers a deeper appreciation for the growers who make Michigan agriculture so special.

A big thank you to Country Fresh Dairy and Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. for an engaging and eye‑opening afternoon! Our State Officer Team explored the journey of milk, from farm to processing to the products families enjoy every day.

Officers learned about food safety, quality assurance, cooperative leadership and the critical role dairy plays in Michigan’s agricultural economy. Experiences like these help our students connect classroom learning to real‑world careers and industry impact.

We appreciate your hospitality and commitment to agricultural education!
