🍀Eaton County 4-H Update🍀

As many of you likely know, last Wednesday, the Board of Commissioners voted to eliminate funding for MSU Extension in Eaton county, cutting off funding for the 4-H program. While Extension staff work to regain a partnership with the county to keep the 4-H program going, here's what you need to know:

Next steps are still being discussed, but there are no immediate changes being made to our program. This means we are still proceeding as we normally would any other year, with 4-H Online re-enrollment and regular fall programming. We will continue supporting Eaton County 4-H youth however we can for as long as we can.

Whenever there is more information to share, we will certainly share it.
Thank you for supporting Eaton County 4-H đź’š

As you may be aware, the Eaton County Board of Commissioners recently proposed a 100% budget cut for Eaton County MSU Extension (Eaton County 4-H).

Although we know the Board has some difficult decisions to make, we are doing all that we can to share the value of the 4-H program for youth, families, and the community as a whole, in hopes that the Commissioners might re-think this decision.

If you would like to show your support for the Eaton County 4-H program, share your experience with 4-H, or share what this program means to you, you may do so by reaching out to your Commissioner, or attending the next public hearing on September 9th at 6:00pm at the Eaton County Courthouse. The final vote on this budget will take place later in September.

We will share more information as we learn it, and we appreciate your support for our amazing program🍀
