Each year locals are allowed to send a certain number of delegates to the convention where we get to vote on new policies and interact with other union members (i.e. other grad locals). If you’re interested in going and representing GEU, please nominate yourself. We have 8 spots available. Lunch will be included!

We have reached an agreement with the university on our contract extension! Effective August 16th, the contract minimums...

We have reached an agreement with the university on our contract extension! Effective August 16th, the contract minimums will be raised by 6%, and every TA will receive either a 5% raise to your current salary or the new minimum for your appointment level, whichever is greater.
We guaranteed language granting us access to the New TA Institute and department orientations across campus, which will help us to build our strength to bargain a full contract next year.
I want to thank everyone who took part in this process! MSU works because we do, and so does this union!

There are no words for the tragic and wholly preventable violence the MSU community experienced earlier this week.
However we are with our members and community.
We are sad.
We are scared.
We are overwhelmed.
We are angry.

This includes a link to a petition to take classes online for the remainder of the spring semester as well as a letter template you can send to MSU admin regarding extending the return to classes. There are also many planned events listed on the page, both at the Capitol and at MSU.
