This week, we had the honor of celebrating the ribbon cutting of Hugh’s Happy Place at the Child and Family Charities Nonprofit Hub - another Izzo Legacy Impact Grant brought to life!

Named for our nephew Hugh, a very special little boy who has taught our family to slow down, look a little closer, and appreciate the world through his eyes. This beautiful playground was created to bring moments of joy, connection, freedom, and adventure to children and families.

More than a playground, Hugh’s Happy Place is a welcoming, inclusive space where children and families can play, connect, build memories, and experience physical and mental health therapy in a space where they feel welcomed, understood, and loved.

This is exactly what the Izzo Legacy Impact Grants are about: thoughtful investments that bring people together, strengthen our community, and create an impact that will last for generations.

We continue to be incredibly proud to have selected Origami Rehabilitation as a 2025 Izzo Legacy Impact Award recipient.

With this support, the vision for the Nonprofit Hub Playground has become a reality. This new inclusive and accessible playground provides children of all abilities with a safe place to play, build confidence, strengthen social connections, and create lasting memories. More than a playground, it has become a shared community space that will benefit children, families, and nonprofit partners for generations to come.

We continue to be incredibly proud to have selected Teaching & Mentoring Young Leaders (TMYL) as a 2025 Izzo Legacy Impact Award recipient.

With support from the Izzo Legacy Impact Award, TMYL has expanded its after-school and summer programming to reach more Lansing youth than ever before. Students are receiving more academic support, mentorship, and enrichment opportunities, resulting in stronger academic achievement, increased confidence, and meaningful social-emotional growth. As the program continues to expand, even more young people will have access to the resources they need to succeed.

We continue to be incredibly proud to have selected Southside Community Kitchen as a 2025 Izzo Legacy Impact Award recipient.

With this support, Southside Community Kitchen has expanded its partnership with the Refugee Development Center, serving nearly 6,500 culturally appropriate meals to refugee and immigrant youth and families since January 2026. These meals are in addition to the organization's more than 2,000 meals served each month through its regular lunch program.

The Izzo Legacy Impact Award has more than doubled Southside Community Kitchen's capacity to feed people, making it possible to serve six additional meals each week while also expanding its capacity to prepare and store fresh meals for the community.

We continue to be incredibly proud to have selected Greater Lansing Food Bank as a 2025 Izzo Legacy Impact Award recipient.

When federal funding disruptions created uncertainty for thousands of Mid-Michigan families, Greater Lansing Food Bank stepped up to meet the moment. With support from the Izzo Legacy Impact Award, the organization ensured fresh milk remained available through its mobile food pantry program and network of partner agencies, helping provide this essential staple to more than 6,700 families during a critical time.

We continue to be incredibly proud to have selected Small Talk Children's Advocacy Center as a 2025 Izzo Legacy Impact Award recipient.

With this support, Small Talk strengthened the technology that helps protect some of our community's most vulnerable children. From upgrading forensic interview equipment to modernizing staff technology and implementing a new donor management system, these improvements have increased efficiency, strengthened partnerships with law enforcement, and positioned the organization for long-term sustainability.
