INSIDE CITY OF EAST JORDAN RULES

When driving snowmobiles inside the City of East Jordan here is some information provided by the City of East Jordan concerning City and State laws regulating the operation of snowmobiles within the city limits. In addition to state law regulating the operation of snowmobiles, the city commission has adopted Ordinance 42-2 entitles "snowmobile regulations" incorporating state regulations (MCL 324.82101 et.seq.), also adding or re-stating the following conditions:
*the city hereby authorizes Main Street from Mill Street to Williams Street as a non-snowmobile designated route of travel. (100 and 200 block of Main Street)
*a snowmobile may travel on any street or alley within the city with the exception of the previously listed Main Street location.
*snowmobiles must obey all traffic regulations.
*snowmobiles must be driven as far to the right as possible (with the flow of traffic) on the roadway unless traveling on a designated route.
*snowmobiles must stop at all intersections whether or not such intersection is a stop street.
*snowmobiles shall not be operated on a sidewalk.
*snowmobiles shall not operate at a rate of speed greater than what is reasonable and proper having due regard for the conditions than existing and in no event in excess of twenty-five (25) miles per hour.
*a person shall not operate a snowmobile within 100 feet of a dwelling between 12 midnight and 6 a.m. at a speed greater than the minimum required to maintain forward movement of the snowmobile.

As of April 15, 2022, the merge between East Jordan Sno-Mobilers and South Arm ORV Club has been accepted. Our two clubs are now one and our new name is East Jordan Trailblazers.

At the January meeting we discussed new names for the newly merging club. A list of new names was made. This list had 18 names on it. The Board of Directors from the East Jordan Sno-Mobilers and the Board of Directors from the South Arm ORV Club has taken the most popular names and narrowed the list to 4 names. If you would like to vote for your choice, you must do so in person at the next meeting (February 21, 2022) at 6 p.m.
These choices are #1 East Jordan Sno-Mobilers & South Arm ORV Club, #2 East Jordan Sno-Mobilers & ORV Association (EJSORVA), #3 East Jordan Trailblazers, #4 East Jordan Powersports Association.

Snowmobile season is in full swing, which means both riders and groomers are out on the trails. Here are a few things to keep in mind when enjoying the trails while grooming is taking place.

❄️ Be courteous to the driver – these volunteers do their best to keep snowmobile trails in riding condition.

❄️ Groomers use the entire width of the trail and have the right of way.

❄️ When a groomer is visible you must immediately move off the trail.
