In honor of America’s Semiquincentennial, marking the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Twin Rivers Council has created a commemorative Council Shoulder Patch (CSP). The design features Steamboat Willie alongside Steamboat Pete dressed as Uncle Sam. The Uncle Sam depiction is inspired by Sam Wilson of Troy, New York, whose legacy is closely tied to the origin of the Uncle Sam figure and whose hometown lies within the Twin Rivers Council service area.
The patch also includes mylar-thread fireworks, giving it a bright, reflective effect. A total of 500 patches were produced for this special release.
Half of the patches will be distributed through the Friends of Scouting (FOS) campaign. Individuals who donate $25 or more to Twin Rivers Council will receive one as a thank-you gift, mailed along with a letter recognizing their support.
The remaining patches are available through the Council Trading Post for $16 each, plus $9 shipping, which includes tracking.
