💐 16 YEARS OF THE BLIND SHEPHERD FUND 💐

For those of you who may not know, I operate a nonprofit organization called the Blind Shepherd Fund, and this month marks our 16th anniversary!

Over the past 16 years, we have donated more than $3 million worth of food to help those in need. I honestly couldn't begin to tell you how many pounds of food that represents, but I can tell you how proud I am that our little nonprofit has been able to make such a meaningful difference in our community.

Yesterday, a dear friend of mine, who works as a hospice social worker, shared a story with me that truly warmed my heart. She has been receiving flowers from us, turning them into beautiful bouquets, and delivering them to her hospice patients during her visits.

She told me about a patient with dementia who hadn't spoken a single word in more than six months.

Yesterday, my friend brought her a bouquet of flowers.

When the patient saw them, her eyes lit up, and she asked, “Are those for me?”

After more than six months of silence, those flowers sparked something inside her. For the next THREE DAYS, she talked about how beautiful they were and continued thanking my friend for bringing them to her.

Just imagine that. A simple bouquet of flowers brought joy, sparked conversation, and gave this woman something beautiful to focus on and talk about.

THIS is why I do what I do. ❤️

When I started the Blind Shepherd Fund, this kind of impact was one of the things I hoped we could accomplish. Sometimes, it's about so much more than food. Sometimes, it's about bringing a little light into someone's life when they need it most. It's about kindness, compassion, dignity, and those precious moments that remind us how much the smallest gestures can mean.

We don't receive donations to support our work. Everything our volunteers do comes from the goodness of their hearts and their genuine desire to help others. Every act of kindness, every delivery, every bouquet, and every meal represents
