Rotary Turns Despair into Hope 💙

Twelve-year-old Sheyla has a large 5-centimeter hole in her heart. A specialized device has been ordered by Dr. Sean Levchuk at St. Francis Hospital to help close it.

Thanks to the incredible support of Rotary, Sheyla is surrounded by care and community during this journey. She is attended a luncheon with the Rotary Club of Commack-Kings Park, welcomed at dinner by the Rotary Club of Southampton and breakfast with Rotary of Islip this morning

On Wednesday, April 29, she completed her second pre-operative visit. Her surgery is scheduled for Wednesday, May 6.

Sheyla and her family came from Honduras filled with fear and uncertainty, as her condition continued to worsen. Today, because of the compassion and action of so many, that despair is being replaced with hope.
