The inspiration
I, Jonathan Bokowski, aka DJ Wheels, created the DJ Wheels Foundation because of a deep love and passion for music and because of my appreciation for how my DJ experiences have enriched and expanded my life. And so can you. I have an overwhelming desire to leave a legacy of hope -- hope for others with Muscular Dystrophy like myself, but also hope for any one who sees limits rather than possibilities. I want to say to them: “Look at me in my situation. If I can do this, so can you. You can accomplish big goals. Wake up! We are alive. We can create. We can accomplish things. We all can make a difference right now – for ourselves , for everyone else around us, now and far into the future.”
“I decided to be happy from the inside. And that is the thought that changed everything for me, despite my being unable to move anything but a mouse, my mouth, my mind, and my heart. I have come to realize that I don’t need anything to make me happy. I CAN BE HAPPINESS ITSELF. When you really make that decision, you become like a magnet and suddenly everything comes to you. It comes right into your very being . You just have to want it so bad. I am so grateful for the difficulties that have forced me to learn this lesson. People live their entire lives without learning how to open their minds and hearts to love, peace and happiness. ”
