BORINQUENEERS MC would like to personally Thank ALL those who joined , have joined, are thinking of joining this great organization that was started with a vision to serve the Connecticut community and expanded across the country. The BORINQUENEERS MC MADE IT INCLUSIVE FOR WOMEN WHEN NO MALE DOMINATED CLUB AT THE TIME DID SO. This ideology coupled with the non existence of who the 65th Infantry Regiment of Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 were and that this regiment fought in the Korean conflict.
The Mission changed- it went from serving community to serving the original BORINQUENEERS Veterans themselves along within each state a chapter was born. The mission then became to FInD actual BORINQUENEERS still alive and help them in any and all capacities along with serving and giving back to each state community.
Once the founder, Lourdes “BOOBIE” met Don Raul Castaneira, an original Korean Veteran who fought on Kelly Hill, in Washington DC in 2007 while both parties were at the Korean War memorial.
A beautiful friendship was made and continued until Don Raul’s health failed.
Don Raul could not believe anyone knew of the BORINQUENEERS let alone carry the NAME BORINQUENEERS ON THEIR BACKS SO PROUDLY FOR THE WORLD TO SEE.
An invitation to Don Raul & his son was made to return to the hotel several Ct, PA members were staying to observe ROLLING THUNDER.
Here Don Raul told many war stories and stories of segregation & mistreatment for being the “rice & bean” regiment within the US Army.
Don Raul was the reason for the BORINQUENEERS MC cry at every event held- VENGA LO QUE VENGA ( COME WHAT MAY) was said prior to the soldiers heading out to fight- there at that moment was when Lourdes “Boobie” knew that the mission was bigger than what she could ever imagine. Don Raul gladly gave his permission to use those words VENGA LO QUE VENGA- a with PRIDE it has been spoken into the world and within EVERY member since that day. Don Raul proudly gave “Boobie” la BENDICION (BLESSING) upon asking him if it would not dishonor the memory of all the fallen soldiers and those like himself who fought, if they the BMC could use this “battle cry” upon leaving entering and while riding together.
“I will never forget Don Raul’s hug as we sat across from each other as he quietly whispered in my ear - at 85 I would never have dreamed talking about my experience so openly with you, with you all here. Tu tienes la Bendicion y tenga cuidado en esa carreterra.” Memoirs of Lourdes “Boobie” founder BORINQUENEERS MC.
Connecticut - the PUERTO RICAN DAY PARADE COMMITTEE 2025- proudly recognized the 20 years of community service and recognized the 20 year accomplishments made for THE 65th INFANTRY REGIMENT DE PUERTO RICO 🇵🇷 BORINQUENEERS.
The visions provided by the BMC members from every chapter made STREET SIGNS, HIGHWAY CLEAN UPS, to MONUMENTS for the 65th Infantry Regiment, to the most iconic mission - the CONGRESSIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR RECIPIENTS & ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FROM PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA IN 2013.
CONNECTICUT has the only monument of size and stature in the country that HONORS THE ORIGINAL BORINQUENEER VETERANS- an idea was brought to several State Representatives & Robert Bobby Sanchez of New Britain where he serves his constituents took the ball & ran with it.
It started with the love of motorcycling - to be equally recognized as an equal member with respect without exclusion of gender.
To a mission to give back to the community of Hartford where the BMC started and where she served as a Law Enforcement Officer- helping her community.
To the rebirth of their second mission of HONOR AND FIDELITAS for all surviving & past Korean Vets of the 65th Infanteria Regimento de Puerto Rico 🇵🇷.
The Mission has not stopped- it continues as of this 2026 year with Honor and Pride, all because a girl who was told - “No girl has ever started an MC club & you don’t know what you are doing.”
A dream became reality with a mission and a purpose that continues with every chapter every member past & present, who also believed and continue to stay true to the BMC course and by- laws within the MC world.
