Gathering of the Tribes
It is time for the 8th annual traditional Gathering of Indigenous People at Brown's Farm located at 890 Luther Road in East Greenbush, NY on September 9th & 10th, 2017. For eight years Andrew Brown, nicknamed Brownie and fellow mixed blood brothers and sisters of the Bear Clan have hosted this traditional gathering bringing awareness to the needs of non-for profit organiz
ations such as Military Moms in Action and other local charities. Traditional Food such as Indian Tacos, Pow wow dancers, Traditional Pow Wow Drum Groups and various vendors have participated in this Gathering. Come join us to help support your community and the Native People. Opening ceremony, which is a Grand Entry for this gathering will take place at Noon on Saturday and Sunday. Come and enjoy a learning experience, traditional dancing, and fun. There will even be a petting zoo for the children to enjoy. For those of you who like traditional craft work of the Native People's, there will be many vendors to choose from selling music, crafts and sharing. This year the Bear Clan Family and Friends have built a traditional lodge for teachings and viewing. There will be demonstrations, story telling and traditional music all throughout the day. We of the Brown Family of the Bear Clan are encouraging people to come and support this epic event that will surely bring joy and happiness into your heart. Many of our boys and girls are stationed overseas and one of the non-profits that the Brown Family of the Bear Clan supports is Military Moms in Action. It is important that we as a Community come together at this Event to share in this life long tradition of Gathering together called a Pow Wow. Andrew Brown, known as Straight Arrow is the head of this organization. It is his vision and life long dream to bring awareness to the joy of gathering good, loving, kind traditional people together in hopes to affect life for all the future generations to come. Andrew Brown and his Bear Clan family welcome people from all traditional walks of like in peace and harmony to gather around the sacred drums to listen and fill your hearts with the heartbeat of the songs sung centuries ago. Gates open at 10 AM both days, colors will be retreated at 6 PM Sat, and 5 PM Sun.
