This is very exciting news so please give Valley Student Theatre lots of love! Thank you for a great 6 years!
_______________________________________________________________
Hope you all had a fantastic rest of your summer; we can’t wait to see you again next year! Our 2020 show has already been decided upon and it’s going to Knock. Your. Socks. Off!
Which brings us to some exciting news that we are FINALLY able to share with you all:
We have been hard at work behind the scenes for the last several months and are proud to announce the launch of VALLEY STUDENT THEATRE, an official 501(c)(3) non-profit student theatre company!
With our sincere gratitude to Mr. Cotteleer for his work with East Granby Student Theatre, LLC over the years, we are thrilled to be taking this next step as Valley Student Theatre. What does this change for you guys? Logistically, pretty much nothing. Erin Dugan and Jenna Sheridan are still the Directors; all rehearsals will follow the same schedule as past years and will still take place at East Granby Farms and East Granby High School; tuition will not increase; all performances will take place at East Granby High School. (Yes, EGHS! Confirmed! :) )
The program itself as the kids experience it will be the same as past years, with Erin and Jenna in charge from auditions to final performances. We have a Board of Directors now that meets regularly and will be welcoming parent help with committees for Concessions, Set Building, Advertising/Media Relations, Fundraising, etc. so if you would like to share your time and be involved to any degree at all, please let us know!
VST Board of Directors
Lizz Bouley – President
Erin Harris – Vice President
David Bouley – Treasurer
Nate Harris – Secretary
Erin Dugan – Executive Artistic Director
We are now a tax-exempt non-profit rather than an LLC, which means there will be fundraising opportunities throughout the year with incentives to participate. (Helping out a 501(c)(3) non-profit is a great opportunity for your Scouts and NHS students to fulfill their Community Service, just sayin!) These fundraisers will be crucial and we welcome your help and input; the money we are able to raise throughout the year goes directly into the program for costumes, set pieces, equipment (new mics, anyone?)…we are hoping to be able to have some options that have not been previously available to make this year’s show really REALLY amazing.
Our first fundraiser is actually coming up! Please come out to Red Robin in Enfield on November 6, 2019 between 5 pm and 8 pm and a portion of the dinner sales will go straight to Valley Student Theatre. We will also have some really incredible raffle prizes. You can follow our page for details as that gets closer, or of course reach out to any of us.
We are accepting raffle items year-round for various fundraisers we have planned so please remember us when you’re Black Friday shopping or unable to return that duplicate Christmas gift!
Finally, our website is just about ready to be launched but it needs something: MORE PHOTOS! If you are ok with past performance/tech photos of your child (from Beauty & the Beast, Shrek and Seussical) being used in our online gallery, please sign the attached photo release and email it to [email protected] as soon as possible. Be on the lookout for an email from Valley Student Theatre with the web address as soon as it launches! In the meantime, please follow Valley Student Theatre on Facebook for the most up-to-date info.
We are so excited about this new chapter and have very big plans so please let us know if you would like to stay on this email list going forward, and of course do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. See you soon!
