East Granby Congregational Church Nursery School

A play-based, half-day preschool in East Granby, CT, we welcome 3-5 year olds from surrounding towns! Since then we have nurtured and cared for many children.

Back in October 1970, our school first opened its doors for area preschool children. We are a small school housed in a bright room with a safe play area outside where we bring nature to life. We enjoy potluck dinners, school events, and we work together on community outreach events. We are definitely a nursery school family. Our preschool focuses on gentle learning through play - we believe childr

en learn best through play and experimentation. We include music, art, stories, French, and outdoor play in our daily routine. Our classroom offers a wide variety of open-ended, educational materials and activities, which is enriched by special programs such as field trips to local farms. Come visit and see what we're all about! We welcome visits by children and their caregivers.

We are enrolling for the 2026-27 school year! Our classes meet Tuesday and Thursday mornings for 3-year-olds ("Salamanders" class), and M/W/F mornings - OR - 5-day mornings for 4 & 5-year-olds ("Bluebirds," who serve as peer models for the Salamanders if they choose the 5-day option).

With very small class sizes (maximum 12 children on T/Th, and 15 on M/W/F), two loving teachers at all times, and a strong focus on social-emotional growth and development (with lots of fun learning thrown in along the way, all through play, art, movement, and fun), we think our school is a pretty special place. Ahoy! Calling all preschoolers! We will be having an open house on Saturday, August 2, from 3pm - 4pm. Come see our lovely classroom, in the round building in the back of East Granby Congregational Church. Our school provides gentle learning through play, in half-day morning classes, where little ones can develop social-emotional skills in a loving, nurturing environment. We still have spots in our Bluebirds class (4-year-olds) for the fall, and a short waiting list for our Salamanders class (3-year-olds). Do you have crafts, art, or delicious food you'd like to sell? We are planning our inaugural fall craft festival, and are seeking vendors! For our starting year, we have a low price of $20/vendor, plus an item donated for our raffle baskets. Our setting will be the beautiful round room in East Granby Congregational Church! Vendor spots are limited, so contact us quickly to reserve your space!

The Festival will be Saturday, November 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We hope to see you there!

Stop by the East Granby Farmer's Market tonight until 6:30, and pick up some gorgeous mums to brighten up your space!

We'll also be at the YMCA vendor fair Saturday morning from 9-12!

All proceeds from this fundraiser help support our wonderful school!
