Paranormal, Afterlife & Supernatural Team of Central Pennsylvania - (PAST)

Paranormal, Afterlife & Supernatural Team of Central Pennsylvania - (PAST) Welcome to the PAST. As of right now, PAST consists of just two members. We are looking to expand soon. NO ONE should do this!

We don't judge our or any other team's status, success, or "credability" by facebook likes, we recognize PARANORMAL UNITY to find the truth even if it means nothing is there. We don't condone or participate in illegal actions or tresspass where you shouldnt be. We don't do this for attention, or to stand out. We don't feel we need to go around promoting ourselves with fancy uniforms, painted cars,

web sites, and all that jazz. We do this because we enjoy it, and we want to find the truth, and help those who need to find out what is really there. Occassionally we may have fundraisers for equipment, or travel expenses and to reserve locations that have a fee. In no way is the money raised used for our own personal use, another NO NO in this field! Jessica - founder
I have been doing paranormal investigations for over 19 years. I have worked with many groups from all over Pennsylvania as a guest. This is the first i've gone out and have begun to form my own group. I really don't feel there is a need to for as many groups that are already out there, but 90% of them are formed for the wrong reasons, all of which i don't agree with. I don't consider this my job, this is a hobby i do when i get a chance or IF we are needed. I am a wiccan, and have a different way of looking at things in this field than most. This does NOT mean i worship the devil or that i'm an evil and bad person. I believe i have a sensitivity to the afterlife and all that goes along with it. I've had experiences of my own all through my childhood that i havent shared with many just due to the fact no one believes. Now that i have grown, i'm not longer afraid to admit who i really am. NO ONE should hide the real them or feel the need to. I am alwaya up to meeting new people, especially those with similar interests and views as me. I don't consider myself, or anyone for that matter, an expert in the field. We can ALL learn new things everyday, and the human mind needs fuel everyday to go on! I read and learn as much as i can so i can continue to help everyone who needs it!

Pennsylvania has a gift for places with history, but when that history comes wrapped in ornate rooms, candlelit atmosphere, and whispers of ghostly activity, it starts to feel like stepping into a gothic novel you can actually sleep inside.

Most people lately say its the coolest thing they've ever heard. But most of my co-workers are half my age.

Here are some tips for investigations when it comes to audio and video:

*Run digital voice recorders and video cameras throughout the location. The audio will help you debunk sounds and allow you to learn the acoustics of the location. Video will give you an idea of ambient light and team movement.

*TAG EVERYTHING. If your stomach grumbles, your movements make sounds, or you do something that could cause any type of anomaly; state what you did. For example if I shifted on my chair and it made a sound I would say "Becky moved in her chair". This tells anyone in the room who it was and what makes that sound. If you are someone that cannot be quiet and is not spatially aware, this may not be the hobby for you. Learn when you influence your environment and how that can cause contamination.

*Learn how different IR lights can impact your night vision cameras. This is important. More IR lights can influence handhelds, DVR cameras, stationary cameras, etc. Learn the light....

*Speak loudly and clearly at all times. Do not use fake voices or impressions, you may not remember that you did it and it can give you a false positive. When your team is together in an area that is being recorded, you may not be able to use the audio if you think there is an EVP if everyone is interacting informally. When it's not "go time" for investigation, it may be best to throw out that audio as much as it is painful OR you need to be professional and "on" at all times.

*Tag your audio and video when you walk through a room. If you don't know where everyone is at any time, you cannot validate your findings for peer review or even with each other. While you may remember where everyone was, you don't know the exact time, so TAG IT!

There's a million things you need to remember when you are documenting any investigation. These are just a few tips that are always a constant lesson.
