Cardunal Community Cares - DT Foundation Purchases 611 E. Main Street, East Dundee Property
East Dundee, IL – December 19, 2024 – The DT Foundation has officially completed the purchase of the property located at 611 E. Main Street in East Dundee, Illinois, from the Village of East Dundee. This property, once known as Summit School has sat vacant since 2013, and will soon be renovated by Cardunal Community Cares to better serve the needs of local residents.

Cardunal Community Cares, a key initiative of the DT Foundation, plans to transform the building, with particular focus on the large former gymnasium space. This area will be repurposed into an expanded food pantry, diaper bank, and clothing closet, all designed to meet the growing needs of the community. Initial renovations will begin with securing basic utility services and preparing sections of the building for use by the food pantry.

The mission of Cardunal Community Cares is to provide vital relief to individuals and families in need throughout Dundee Township, with a particular focus on supporting seniors and disabled residents. The organization is known for its unique service model, which includes delivering food directly to senior households.

The efficient process ensures that clients receive the assistance they need in a timely and compassionate manner. Volunteers collect food donations from various local partners, call seniors to allow them to select their preferred items through a menu-style form, and then deliver the packaged food and goods directly to their doors.

On October 14, 2024: St. Catherine's Knights of Columbus made a generous donation of 72 childern's coats to the Cardunal Community Cares (DT Foundation).

This kind of community support makes a big difference, especially for families in need as the colder months approach.

The clock is ticking on our Pampered Chef Fundraiser to STOMP OUT HUNGER in the Dundee area.

All proceeds from this fundraiser will go toward the DTF - Cardunal Community Cares Food Pantry, which services via delivery to over 125 senior citizens and their households.
