Half Moon Sober Festival, Inc.

Half Moon Sober Festival, Inc. (HMSF) is a New England based, tax exempt, all-volunteer, non-profit corporation based in New Hampshire.

Over the years our primary purpose has always been to provide an affordable, alcohol-and-drug-free environment in which individuals and families can come together to learn, grow and socialize. Every year, HMSF accomplishes this by producing a number of events—concerts, sober dances, comedy shows and other social events – culminating with an annual four-day multi-cultural concert and camping experi

ence, the Half Moon Sober Festival, held on Memorial Day Weekend in New Boston, New Hampshire. Our goal is to change societal attitudes that have associated recreational and social activities with the use of alcohol and drugs. We do this by promoting change at the core level, and presenting alternatives to reinforce that it is not only possible, but FUN, to have a full and enjoyable life without alcohol and drugs.

1) Who is to the right of the picture that performed a few times at the festival? The now famous worldwide “Recycled Percussion” when they were 3 years in of starting their profession as we know them today 👏🏻

2) What was the date of the very first festival and where was it located (city)?
It was a one day event on June 15, 1996 held on Half Moon Lake in Alton NH where it all began 👏🏻
