At our 18-week anatomy scan, we found we were having a beautiful baby girl. The ultrasound Tech could not see everything so we made an appointment to come back in 2 weeks. We began brain storming baby girl names. We made it a family affair with our 7-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter. Our 1-year-old daughter was too small to show interest. We finally agreed on the name Camryn Averie. Our 4 year
old was extremely excited about being a big sister again. During those two weeks, I would sing and talk to Camryn. I worked third shift so there were plenty of moments where she was the only person awake with me kicking and rolling when she heard my voice. Going to work became a bonding experience for us. On February 2, 2015, we went for our follow up ultrasound. As I showered that morning, I knew something was wrong. I felt different. As we made our way through the blizzard the car ride was unusually quiet. When the ultrasound started, I knew something was wrong. I began to panic on the inside because I did not see a heartbeat on the screen. The tech left to get the doctor and she confirmed my fear. “Mrs. Littlejohn I’m so sorry but we can’t find a heartbeat.” Those few words crushed my heart. I was in my 2nd trimester so I was told we had to deliver the baby. My husband and sister held my hands as we walked what felt like the green mile. I labored and delivered naturally at Hillcrest Hospital. Camryn Averie Littlejohn was born an angel on February 2, 2015 at 11:20 pm 9 ounces 8 ½ inches. We held her, kissed her, and expressed how much we loved her. Losing Camryn was the hardest thing I ever went through but God held us and is still carrying us through this storm. The Camryn Averie Foundation was created to reach out to those dealing with pregnancy and infant loss. We are offering our support to you as you take this journey with God. We are a Christian Non-Profit organization offering healing through God’s word and deliverance from the grief, we know all too well. We also offer an annual scholarship for young mothers enrolled in college and seeking to make a difference in their life. Thank you for visiting our page and joining our journey. – Kelli
