The Indiana Harbor-East Chicago Lions Club (IH-EC) is a community based community service organization made-up of like minded women and men wanting to give back to East Chicago, and live up to the Lions motto, " WE SERVE." Throughout its years in existence, the IH-EC Lions Club has been the foundation of many noble causes. The IH-EC Lions, sponsors two pancake breakfasts per year, along other with other fund raising events, to raise money for projects, such as providing Leader Dogs for the Blind, Cancer Research, Diabetes Awareness, Speech and Hearing, Indiana School for the Blind and Hearing Impaired, Indiana Eye and Tissue Bank along with local assistance for eyeglasses, hearing aids, medical equipment locker, Carlos Godinez Memorial Beach Clean-up at Jerose Park Beach and many other projects and community assistance. On August 17, 2022, the Indiana Harbor East- Chicago Lions Club will celebrate their 96st anniversary as a very influential organization in East Chicago History. On August 17, 2026, the IH-EC Lions club will reach a milestone anniversary of 100 years of servicing East Chicago. Their members have been selfless individuals that have dedicated themselves and effort to serving their community. It is their Lion's pride and desire for a better society that inspires them to serve the East Chicago community. .
