I would love to do this at our disc golf course? Do you think it would work, or do you think they would all be stolen quickly? Praying that our community enjoys the hard work we put into making this disc gold course fun and enjoyable for everyone!
Really neat idea. How long before all the discs are stolen?
Park near me with disc golf has made many improvements over the years: new goals (whatever they’re called; I’m an amateur), secondary tee off pads for some holes, even a spot near the first pad where people can practice their putting while waiting to tee off.
I haven’t played in a while (again, amateur, this sport really isn’t for me; I suck) so I never noticed this until now: bags with assorted discs and a card inside that talks about how to play the game. The discs have the park district initials spraypainted on just like you see on the bags. I can only assume those discs are the ones in lost and found that never got claimed. (That’s another thing: there’s a disc disposal mailbox looking thing for any lost discs found on the course. The park district then takes them to the nature center at the park where people can pick up what they lost). This thing you see here is meant for those who don’t own discs.
It’s a cool concept, but I can imagine there’ll be those people who suck and just steal them, ruining this for those that actually could benefit from it.
