We want to take a moment to thank the East Burke Fire Brigade and Remote Rescue for all their hard work. The brigade is 100% volunteer, and they are the ones who answer the calls in an emergency.

From responding to structure fires and motor vehicle accidents to mountain bike crashes and locating lost hikers, these volunteers do so much to keep our community safe!

It's the 50th anniversary, and they are trying to raise $50,000. If you can, please consider donating.

Burke Chamber looking is looking for volunteers for the Fall Festival.

HELP - Volunteers Needed for the Burke Fall Festival on 9/26... It's an all-hands-on-deck event and we need lots of volunteers to help with various aspects of the event including:

Parking - 7am-noon
Vendor assistance - 7-9am
Event Set Up - 8-10am
BBQ booth servers - 9:30/10am-2:30pm
Clean up - 2:30 - 4:30pm

Trail crew is honing its bridge building skills!

For this bridge in East Haven, they are using cedar trees harvested on site for the stringers.

First they fell the tree, then strip off the bark, prep it, and place it. The final step will be to add the decking.

Hi Folks,

We are seeing more E-bikes out on the trails, and we wanted to share a few etiquette reminders to ensure smooth and friendly interactions for everyone.

1. Remember that riders in front of you have the right of way.

2. Please use your voice or a bell when coming up behind another user. A simple "Hi there, can I pass when you get a chance?" is perfect.

3. Slow down, and pass at a low speed.

4. Enjoy the rest of your ride!
