We were thrilled to welcome School on Wheels MA founder , who recently spent a Sunday volunteering alongside her Confirmation Class from Covenant Congregational Church North Easton Ma.
The group customized backpacks by grade level, helping to ensure students start the 2026-27 school year with the supplies they need to succeed.
In 2004, Cheryl began assembling backpacks at her kitchen table and delivering to a dozen children living in two Brockton-area family shelters.
Today, thanks to the support of volunteers, donors, and community partners, SOWMA distributes more than 11,000 backpacks annually to students throughout Massachusetts.
Along the way, Cheryl developed our tutoring and mentoring programs, helping students build confidence, resilience, and brighter futures.
Thank you, Cheryl, for planting the seed that continues to grow!

“Every backpack carries far more than school supplies,” said Community Outreach Director Barbara Fox. “It carries encouragement, opportunity, and a reminder that an entire community is cheering a child on,” she added. 🎒✨
