Marianne Cosgrove, PhD, DNAP, CRNA, APRN, FAANA, has left an enduring mark on the nurse anesthesiology profession through her extraordinary leadership as Program Director of the Yale New Haven Hospital School of Nurse Anesthesia. For 13 years, she shaped not only a program of excellence, but generations of CRNAs who carry forward her commitment to clinical rigor, education and compassionate care. Her tireless dedication, vision and mentorship have elevated the profession in ways that will be felt for years to come. As she retires from this role, CTANA extends its deepest gratitude and admiration for a truly outstanding career. Dr. Cosgrove will be profoundly missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire.

The Yale New Haven Hospital School of Nurse Anesthesia now enters its next chapter under the leadership of Filomena Ruggiero, DNP, CRNA, APRN, CHSE. Having served the program for more than five years and trained closely under Dr. Cosgrove as Assistant Program Director, Dr. Ruggiero brings continuity, expertise and a deep understanding of the program’s mission. CTANA congratulates her on this well-earned role and looks forward to the program’s continued success under her guidance.

The AANA / American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology Mid-Year Assembly is always an inspiring event and this year was no different. Alongside fellow CRNAs and nurse anesthesia residents (NARs) from across the country, we took our voices to Capitol Hill, engaging directly with elected officials in our nation’s capital. At the center of every conversation was championing and elevating the vital role CRNAs play in patient care.

We also made time to celebrate and connect with colleagues throughout the event, highlighted by an unforgettable masquerade.
