For over 50 years the AARP Foundation Tax Aide program has offered free tax filing services to older (over 50) or lower income taxpayers. We are looking for volunteers to join us for the 2022 tax season in Orchard Park, East Aurora and Buffalo. Training - virtual and/or in-person - and equipment is provided. The AARP Tax Aide group is looking for volunteers for the 2020 tax year. Training for tax preparers starts in November virtually and with video conferencing. All that is needed is a home computer - no travel required! Further training along with returning volunteers occurs in January and tax preparation commences in late January/early February, If you want to learn something new (tax law) and desire to help others, this program is for you! If you don't want to learn tax preparation we have other positions available. The AARP Tax-Aide group of Orchard Park, NY offers free tax preparation to low to moderate income and 50 and over people at our four sites: Orchard Park Senior Center, East Aurora Senior Center, Valley Community Association in Buffalo and Concord Senior Center in Springville. We are looking for new volunteers for the upcoming tax season for all sites. Previous tax prep experience is helpful but not necessary. Training and IRS Certification is provided. Experience with computers is a plus as is experience with computer technology. A friendly personality and a willingness to work with people are a must!
