As the founder of “Tears to Tiers” I would like to give you a little background in how this organization was birthed. I began making cakes for my own children and family just

for fun. I was given a wonderful opportunity to make a very special cake for my cousin’s little girl, Ally. Ally, had been diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of five months old. This brought many uncertainties to all of us. No one knew what the future held for her. Creating Ally’s first birthday cake was an honor, joy, and privilege as we celebrated the life that God had given to our family. I have been given the opportunity to create a cake for a man who was diagnosed with terminal cancer. This birthday celebration turned out to be the last birthday spent with his family, but oh what wonderful memories they carry from that day spent with their father, brother, uncle, husband, family member, and friend. I have also been given the honor and privilege of providing birthday cakes for the children at Miracle Hill’s Children’s Home in Pickens County. This Children’s Home house abused and or neglected children. My hopes and prayers are that the children feel special and loved by these cakes, and, if only for a moment, are able to forget about the circumstances that have brought them to this home. As for Ally, I am happy to say that she will be six years old November 13, 2014. Ally and her family are still struggling with the difficulties that come along with having the brain tumor, yet we are extremely thankful for each day the Lord continues to bless us with her bright, cheerful life. Seeing Ally and her family take in stride what each day sends has made me realize that there are thousands of people having to cope with the same struggles; whether it be chemo, MRI’s, overnight stays in the hospital due to undiagnosed fevers, baseball games with their son Hunter, gymnastics with their other daughter Chloe, or just everyday tasks. These are the families and children that I hope to touch with a Life Celebration Cake. I want to be a part of celebrating life with those that God has placed in this world to impact and change those around them. These precious people, you see, are the real givers, fighters, over comers, and blessings in this life.

Mother’s Day Cake

As Mother's Day approaches I have decided to make a Mother’s Day cake for one mother this year.
Most of you know I had to take a break from this ministry 4yrs ago to take care of our 6month old special needs foster baby. We adopted him 2yrs ago, he is now 41/2yrs old. Oh how time flies. I miss this ministry greatly and know one day God will allow me the opportunity to continue it. While I wait for the timing to be right, I will enjoy the precious time I have with my guy as we care for his needs.
With all of this being said I desire to make one Mother’s Day cake this year for a special mother. A cake for a mother who is holding it all together for a child who is chronically ill or whose child has recently ultimately won the battle against their sickness and have gone on to be with the Lord. Or for that mother who is battling herself with sickness and even in her situation manages to hold it all together for her children and family.
I want to do something special for this mother to let her know that she is loved and appreciated. I want to let her know that her efforts and burdens are seen and cared for!
As before I need your help by nominating a mother to receive this cake. You will need to be able to give me contact info for this mother, be able to set up a meet for myself or a pickup for yourself to deliver the cake. (Please be sure there are no dietary restrictions.)

I will choose the mother who will receive this cake by a drawing. I truly wish I could make a cake for every mother but I just can’t. Should you have any questions please feel free to contact me. We have been so fortunate to have the opportunity to serve by making cakes for Miracle Hill Children’s home for almost 6yrs. We are sadden to hear of their change as they will no longer serving children in their children’s home as a group home. They do plan on allowing foster parents to live in the cottages/homes and foster children. However they will no longer have staff that work for the homes. The parents will be licensed parents just as any other foster family. This being said as of May 1st my serves will no longer be needed for the Children’s Home. Again I am thankful for the blessings God had given us as we have made each child a cake on their birthday and look forward to what God has in store. Thank you to all that have been a part of supporting us with your donations as we served these children.

Some of you who don’t know me personally, don’t know that I have been fighting health problems. I haven’t made a cake from start to finish since May 19th. I have been purchasing cakes from Publix. To be able to make this cake is one more step to my healing. Thank you for your understanding to those I have had to say no to, due to my health.
