As we celebrate America 250 this year, we are excited to announce the return of the Upstate Field of Honor September 11- September 18 next to Pickens County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs at 1308 Griffin Mill Rd. Our theme again is Honoring Our Heroes!

The goal this year is to have 250 beautiful American flags, each dedicated in honor of or in memory of. someone's hero. If your hero or heroes are military, first responder, law enforcement, or a very special personal hero, we hope you will consider sponsoring flags for them. To sponsor a flag, contact someone with Foothills Civitan Club or go to this link: www.healingfield.org/events/easley-sc/

Happy National First Responders Day! Today we proudly honor the courage and dedication of Pickens County’s first responders — fire, EMS, law enforcement and our public safety telecommunications — who work tirelessly to keep our community safe, healthy and protected.

We also recognize the many others who support emergency response behind the scenes. From Public Works crews clearing roads during severe weather, to Communications and Engagement teams sharing urgent safety information with the public, to maintenance staff ensuring vehicles and facilities are ready at a moment’s notice — every role matters when seconds count.

Please join us in thanking the men and women who stand ready whenever our community needs them. Your service makes all the difference, today and every day.
