On April 21st, the Easley Rotary Club welcomed speaker Tim Brookshire from Prisma Health.

Tim shared updates on a new $138 million, state-of-the-art behavioral health hospital currently under construction on a 46-acre site along Highway 153 in Easley. This 134,000-square-foot facility will centralize behavioral health services in the Upstate, helping reduce the need to transport patients to Columbia due to current space limitations.

Once completed, the hospital will significantly expand access to care—nearly doubling total patient beds and almost quadrupling beds for children and adolescents—for a total of 112 beds.

In addition to improving patient access, the Easley location is expected to benefit staff as well, with many employees already living in the Easley and Powdersville areas.

This investment marks meaningful progress in strengthening behavioral health resources for our community.

At our April 7th meeting, Rotarian Elliot Cleveland shared an inside look at his practice, The Movement Doctors.

Elliot highlighted the range of services they provide, including physical therapy to improve strength, flexibility, and mobility for injury recovery, post-surgery rehab, and chronic conditions. He also discussed their movement therapy, which focuses on assessing and treating movement disorders for patients of all ages.

To get everyone involved, Elliot even challenged Rotarians in attendance to perform squats—giving a fun, hands-on demonstration of mobility and functional movement.

We also heard firsthand from three athletes who shared their success stories and positive results as patients of The Movement Doctors—powerful testimonials to the impact of personalized care.

The practice is located in the historic building formerly known as Frierson’s Drug Store, adding a new chapter to over 120 years of history in our community.
