Burning Seed

Burning Seed This is the official page for Burning Seed - Australia's first regional Burning Man event. Instead, a Burn is created by its participants, not for them.

People new to Burning Seed often assume that a Burn is like a festival — a mostly passive experience where event producers organise everything and you just need to rock up for the show. There ain’t no fancy-pants production company curating from up on high or digging our ditches down below. There are no sugar-daddy sponsors, advertisers or stalls either. There is only you + me and a gifting econom

y. Together, we pool our resources, skills, ideas and imagination to create the funding, the city, the entertainment and the experience itself. It’s a week filled with art, Theme Camps, gifting, performances, crewing, music, fire and more. We also take care of our day-to-day needs and the environment, while we’re there and when we leave. It is this very act of collaboration and participation that makes Burning Seed special, and our week culminates with the burning of the Effigy and the Temple before the city returns once more to forest. Radical self expression ❤️‍🔥 comes alive in the Paddock Gallery — an open-air canvas for everyone at Pilot Burn.

Paddock Gallery: an open air canvas for everyone at Pilot Burn.

The ARTery team is creating a Paddock Gallery: a cluster of boards and surfaces, creating a shared space for colour, play and expression.

Paint them. Spray them. Hang a piece of art with a hammer and a single nail (BYO nail + hammer). Claim a panel for a mural or add one tiny mark and wander off.

Kids absolutely welcome.

No rules, no pressure — just a communal canvas waiting for whatever you want to bring.

Come help the paddock bloom.

Located: Orion's Belt, out the front of HQ / FART

Leave No Trace (LNT) is one of the core principles guiding Pilot Burn — and it only works if everyone participates.

🚨Everything you bring in, you take out. No exceptions.

This is where MOOP (Matter Out Of Place) comes in.
MOOP is anything that doesn’t belong on the land — glitter, cigarette butts, zip ties, food scraps, even the tiniest fragment.

If it wasn’t there before you arrived, it’s MOOP.

✨ That means:

Clean your camp thoroughly
Pick up after yourself and others
Do MOOP sweeps regularly
Think ahead — avoid bringing things that can easily become MOOP

Leaving No Trace isn’t just about cleaning up — it’s about respecting the land, the community, and the experience we’re all creating together.

When we leave, it should look like we were never there… or even better.

Kind reminder about the 10 principles we are guided by.
No spectators. No transactions. Only radical participation and the strange, luminous freedom of building something beautiful together.

Introducing This Year’s Temple: The Star Crucible of the Temple Tree

There are things we carry that don’t belong in the next chapter.

The Temple is where they can shift — to be held, witnessed, woven into the stars, and made part of something larger than ourselves.

Here, you are invited to place your offerings into the Star Crucible. Symbols, fragments, memories, intentions — all are welcome to rest within this shared space. You may also mark a lantern to carry your thread forward.

This is a place of release, reflection, and transformation — where what we hold can soften, change shape, and return to something greater.

On Sunday, we will walk together in a quiet procession from the Temple to the Effigy — carrying with us what we have been holding, and what we are ready to leave behind.

You are invited.
Bring what is heavy. Let it be seen. Let it move.

Together, we transcend.

🔊 Theme Camp Spotlight: Cube Modulator 🔊

Step into Cube Modulator — a high-energy space built for movement, music, and immersive dancefloor moments.

Driven by a curated flow of great tunes and evolving sound, this is a place where the energy shifts, builds, and transforms throughout the night. Expect rhythms that pull you in, lights that move with the beat, and a dancefloor that never stays still.

A space where sound, people, and atmosphere come together in constant motion.

🎶 Dynamic. Pulsing. Ever-evolving.
Come dance, come play, come modulate the moment.
