There is great tragedy in being enslaved while believing you are free! There is some kind of profound deception that blinds a person to their true condition. It's an illusion of autonomy, it's a false sense of control, where one is actually bound by invisible chains, whether those chains are sin, ignorance, pride, or the lies of a culture that celebrates what is ultimately destructive. It’s a spiritual captivity where the mind and heart are imprisoned, but the prisoner doesn’t even recognize the cell in which he or she lives.

This kind of deception is far worse than overt oppression because it hinders the pursuit of true freedom. At least when someone is aware of their own bo***ge, there’s the potential for escape, for crying out for deliverance. But when one is shackled in their soul yet convinced they are free, they remain content in their captivity, unknowingly robbed of their purpose, joy, and peace.

So, are you truly free?

If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed!

It’s a reminder to reflect on our lives and ask ourselves the question, are we truly free, or are we merely living with the illusion of freedom? Are you enslaved by your habits, your desires, or even your mindset that impersonates itself as personal liberty? To be unaware of your own bo***ge is to remain in darkness, but recognizing your bo***ge is the first step to liberation and freedom in Christ. True freedom is found in living under the rule of Christ, for only in Him is there life, peace, and the breaking of every chain, visible and invisible.

Honor Christ!
It is our call to honor Him in everything we do. It’s not about gaining anything or building anything for ourselves; it’s about bringing glory to the One who made us who we are and allows us to do what we do. So, if you are preaching, preach to bring glory to Him. If you are writing, write to the glory of the Lord. In your parenting, business, family, work, in your everyday life, and in everything you do, do it all unto Christ!

Happy Birthday to Johnny Mac. Im grateful for his faithfulness in ministry over the years and the impact that he has had on my life and my preaching. There are many great men that I have learned from, and John is just another faithful brother who has been a blessing to me. Happy Birthday.

I want to encourage you today to remember that it’s God who is sovereign over all earthly authorities. As Daniel 2:21 (NASB) states, "It is He who changes the times and the periods; He removes kings and appoints kings." What shall we do in remembering these things as we face political unrest?

I think we can be reminded first that God is Sovereign. "For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God." (Romans 13:1)

We can also Pray and Trust God: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God...will guard your hearts and minds." (Philippians 4:6-7)

We can have hope in God's Plan: "'For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.'" (Jeremiah 29:11) It might be destruction, but its His plan!

We can act right when things don't go our way. "He has told you, mortal one, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?" (Micah 6:8)

We MUST have an eternal perspective: "For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ." (Philippians 3:20)

So, friends, press on towards the prize of the upward calling. God's got this..
