⭐️🐾🏀EYB WILDCAT CULTURE AWARD🏀🐾⭐️
Hey, EYB Wildcat Alumni we have some exciting news for you!!!
As many of you know EYB established a scholarship fund at the conclusion of our inaugural season. The fund was originally set up as a college scholarship award for 1 male and 1 female EYB participant to be awarded their senior year. At the beginning of our second season the EYB Board discussed finding a more immediate impact for our EYB participants regarding this fund. After some deliberation, the decision was made to utilize the fund as a basketball training fund aimed at aiding the future basketball development of the EYB Wildcats who are awarded the funds. At the March EYB Board Meeting the EYB Board finalized the details on how to award the funds with the creation of the EYB Wildcat Culture Award.
The EYB Wildcat Culture Award was created to award the EYB Wildcats who have shown EYB Wildcat culture on and off the hardwood. 1 male and 1 female EYB participant will be awarded the EYB Wildcat Culture Award at the Earlsboro Public Schools Award Assembly starting in 2026. To be considered for the award the 6th grader must have participated in EYB for at least 1 season, be in good standing behaviorally and financially with EYB, and fill out and turn in the application by the deadline of April 15th. The application consists of player information, a player questionnaire, and recommendations from their 6th grade teacher or Principal and their School Basketball Coach. Recommendations will be based on the EYB Wildcats behavior and participation, how teachable/coachable they were, and if they were good classmates/teammates. The applications will be reviewed by the EYB Board who will choose 1 male and 1 female winner based on an average score of all the reviewers of the applications.
EYB Wildcat Culture Award winners will be presented with a certificate of their accomplishment and a $250 voucher for basketball training by a EYB Board Member at the Earlsboro Public School Award Assembly. The $250 voucher will be for recouping funds for any basketball related training up to a total of $250 during the summer for the EYB Wildcat Culture Award winners. EYB will refund winners parents/guardians after presenting receipt of payment for basketball training, camps, summer basketball team fees, etc. Details will be given to the winner.
The EYB Board feels the change of the purpose of the funds better aligns with our vision for Earlsboro Youth Basketball. The change to a basketball training fund tied to the awarding of the newly created EYB Wildcat Culture Award (1) makes an immediate financial impact on our EYB Wildcats, (2) continues the basketball development on the hardwood of our EYB Wildcats, and (3) promotes the core values and vision of EYB awarding our standard bearers of EYB Wildcat Culture.
🚨If you are an EYB Wildcat Alumni from either the 2024-2025 and/or the 2025-2026 seasons we invite you to apply for the EYB Wildcat Culture Award. We will be giving out 4 awards this year 2 male (1 24/25 & 1 25/26) and 2 female (1 24/25 & 1 25/26) every year hereafter will be only available to the current seasons 6th grade class. Applications will be sent home with those we know qualify from Earlsboro Public Schools and/or you may request an application.
1️⃣ EYB Wildcats will need to fill out their portion of the application before handing it over to your 6th teacher or Principal for a recommendation (last years 6th graders should see Mr. Elmore for a recommendation).
2️⃣ Your Teacher/Principal will give a recommendation and hand off your application to the schools coach for their recommendation.
3️⃣ The coaches make recommendations and will turn the application into EYB for review.
🗓️ Applications are due back to EYB by close of business on April 15th, so do not hesitate in getting your applications turned in for recommendations.
