🚨 After School Program Update 🚨

After a lot of behind-the-scenes planning and consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to put our Kids Club After School Program on hold for the remainder of 2026. We simply weren’t able to get the program fully up to speed, and where we wanted it to be in time for this Fall, so we’re taking a step back, giving ourselves the time to build it right, researching funding opportunities, and looking ahead to a stronger launch in 2027.

The good news? Kids Club After School isn’t going away! 💕

We’ve started a waitlist for our 2027 program, and families who join will be the first to hear when registration opens. Since spots will be first-come, first-served, joining the waitlist is the best way to stay in the loop and be ready to register!

And finally, a HUGE thank you to all of the families who gave Kids Club After School a try this week. 💕 It was so much fun having your kiddos with us, and their smiles, energy, and personalities will definitely be missed around here! 🥲

We’re also grateful for our community's support, trust, and willingness to try something new with us. We can’t wait to welcome even more kiddos back in 2027!

POV: You’re an elder millennial running a nonprofit in small-town Iowa. 😂

One minute you’re answering emails, the next you’re moving tables and chairs, making a social media post, solving a crisis, planning an event, trying out a new afterschool program, and somehow becoming the person who knows everything about upkeep on a historic building.

It’s not always glamorous. It’s definitely never boring. But getting to do meaningful work in the community I love? I wouldn’t trade it. 💕

Small town. Big dreams. Questionable work-life balance. 😂

Senior Speaker Series: Week 2️⃣ of 1️⃣4️⃣

Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation is joining us this Friday (8/28) at 10 AM for our Senior Speaker Series! 🌿

We’re excited to welcome Heather Jobst, Senior Land Protection Facilitator with INHF, for a conversation about the importance of protecting Iowa’s prairies, woodlands, wetlands, and wildlife.

Heather has worked on hundreds of projects helping permanently protect more than 200,000 acres across Iowa. During her presentation, she’ll share why Iowa’s parks, trails, and wildlife areas matter. She will even highlight a few special places right here near Earlham! 🌾🦌

Hey Earlham! We need your help! 💕

Kids Club After School officially started this week, and we are SO excited about what we’re building, but we need a few more friends to join us for the program to be sustainable! 🎒✨

If your family has been considering Kids Club After School, this is your sign to register! We have a fun afternoon planned with crafts, games, movement, snacks, homework time, reading, and lots of time to simply be silly kids.

We’d love to keep opening our doors and providing this space for local families, but we need your help to make that possible.

Kids Club After School officially started TODAY! 🎒

After months of planning, preparing, and dreaming about what this program could be, we finally welcomed our first couple of kids this afternoon!

Kids Club After School is designed to be a safe, welcoming place for kids to land after school. A place where they can get homework done, read, create, play, move, enjoy a snack, and just be kids.

We’re incredibly excited to see this program become part of our community and so grateful to everyone who helped us make it happen. 💕

Here’s to making the transition from school to home a little easier for kids and families!
