Today is World Environment Day! The United Nations established this day to promote global awareness and action to protect our environment. One way we're contributing at In Harmony Farm is by using landscape fabric. It suppresses weeds between rows, helps the soil retain moisture, and helps prevent erosion. It also means less time and energy spent weeding!

What's Growing Wednesday: Walking onions are unusual perennials that produce small bulbs called bulbils at the top of their stalks. The bulbs, shoots, bulbils, and leaves can be harvested and eaten. If not harvested, the stalks eventually flop over, and the bulbils take root where they land, "walking" across the garden! Here, Scolastica harvests walking onions on Ubumwe Family Farm.
