Nothing makes me happier than seeing this one little boy riding his bike to the summer camp at Bricker Price Block and he always has his helmet on that we gave him! Parents, you set the tone for your child wearing helmets. They can crash and get seriously hurt or get hit by a car. Please encourage your kids to wear their helmets and if you are biking with them, lead by example and wear your helmet. If anything were to happen, we want to say we encouraged safe biking habits. It does and it can save their lives as well as prevent traumatic brain injuries.

It was a great event in Des Moines at Birdland Pool, Safe Summer Kickoff. We were able to give away all of our helmets to children in the community and support the Street Collective and all other great organizations. We will need to start some fundraising again to replenish our supply so we can do this again. Nothing feels better than knowing we are making children safe when they are having fun. It means a lot to us to be able to give back to the communities around us. We love to support our own community activities as well. Here are a couple photos of us at the event. We had such a blast doing this.

We had a great time at Safe Summer Kick Off at Birdland Pool in Des Moines. We were able to help with Street Collective and Des Moines Police by giving out all of our helmets. There was a bike giveaway and bike rodeo. Fun event.

Earlham 4th graders all have helmets for their fun bike ride on the RRVT. We made sure that kids who didn't have helmets now can ride safely on the trail. Have fun kiddos and be safe! Thanks Kevin Williamson for reaching out to us!

We have a busy week this week. Earlham 4th graders are getting ready for their annual bike ride and we committed to ensuring all the 4th graders have a helmet.

Lidz for Kidz will be setting up a booth at the Birdland Pool in Des Moines to help with their Safe Summer Kickoff which is with the Street Collective and Police Athletic League. We hope to give helmets to kids who don't have them and make sure they fit properly. This even will be held on 5/13.

Please remember that we work solely off donations and in order for us to continue to serve our community and others, we need to ask you to help support us. $10 purchases 1 helmet. Please send a check to the Earlham Savings Bank or Venmo our account (this is a business account and not a personal if you have trouble finding us.)

Lidz for Kidz is going to have a busy couple of months! We will be donating helmets to kids from the 4th grade classes in Earlham to those without helmets. We have a vendor event in Des Moines in which we are partnering with Street Collective and other organizations to give away some helmets. We are hoping to get some more things lined up over the summer.

Here we are asking for donations to keep us moving forward in keeping kids safe whether it be on a bike, skateboard, or scooter. We want to help! Send your donations to our Venmo Lidz For Kidz !

Helmets given to some of the children as part of Des Moines Refugee Support program. These boys were very excited to get their helmets, now they can ride their bicycles safely. It is a pleasure working with the people that are part of that organization.

Grateful to be able to support communities doing big things. Des Moines Refugee Support can be found on Facebook. This non-profit organization helps to identify and bridge gaps for refugees, specifically their children by helping them to establish their new lives in Iowa. They have asked us to help provide helmets so they can safely ride their bicycles or skateboards in the communities they are living. We are honored to help support programs like this.

Thought today would be a great day for an update on some upcoming events we have to look forward to. Des Moines Street Collective aka Des Moines Bike Collective has a youth event, where kids will be able to refurbish their own bikes. They currently have 10 kids that will be participating and hope for more. We donated 15 helmets toward their youth program today. We will also be attending a vendor event on May 13th and will share more information closer to the date of the event. Looking forward to biking season. Remember to stay safe and wear those helmets to protect your brain!

We have some amazing programs in the Des Moines Metro area! Love seeing all these bikes being donated! Now we just need to make sure that kids have helmets! Its about time to get our bikes and helmets dusted off!
