Our flag is at half-staff today at the direction of the President in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day.

On Peace Officers Memorial Day and during Police Week, we honor our brave officers who serve on the frontlines to protect our families, safeguard our communities and shoulder a burden of responsibility that most Americans can not fathom. This week and always, we honor the courageous men and women serving in law enforcement and memorialize those who sacrificed their lives defending the thin blue line.

⚡️Storm Advisory ⚡️

There is a potential for strong winds with a storm coming through tomorrow. While we are sitting in the enhanced risk, we encourage you to still take precautions. Make sure anything that you would like to keep, either gets brought inside or is properly secured. I know many people would enjoy a new grill cover or umbrella that magically shows up in their yard, but then that means someone else is missing theirs. Also ensure you have working flashlights, charged phones and some snacks if there power outages.

If you haven’t started following the US National Weather Service Philadelphia/Mount Holly, it would not be a bad idea to start today. They are a great resource when it comes to our local weather.

Stay safe and if you need us, we are a phone call away.

Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County has issued a Snow Emergency Declaration effective at Noon on Saturday, January 24th, 2026.

What a Snow Emergency means for our residents:
- No Parking is allowed on designated Snow Emergency Routes.
- Vehicles using these routes must have snow tires or chains.

During a Snow Emergency, no vehicles may be parked on these routes, and vehicles using these routes must have snow tires or chains.

The list can be found here:
https://www.uprov-montco.org/432/UPT-Weather-Hub

- Please move all cars off the street to make room for the snowplows.

- Road conditions will be dangerous due to a mix of snow and ice. Please stay off the roads and limit driving.

- Please be patient for your neighborhood/development to be plowed as major roads are the high priority.

- The Community Center at Anderson Farm Park will be CLOSED on Sunday 1/25 & Monday 1/26 and is tentatively scheduled to reopen 10am on Tuesday 1/27.

- Reminder: All Township Trails and Park Amenities are not plowed during the winter season.

- The Township Administration Building will be CLOSED on Monday 1/26.

- The Red Cross Blood Drive scheduled for Tuesday 1/27 has been cancelled.

- In case of an emergency, call 911

- Department of Fire & Emergency Services is increasing staffing and will aid with any EMS/Medical calls in the township.

- Police Department will continue to maintain patrol operations throughout the weekend.

- Public Works will battle the snow with trucks, plows, and heavy equipment

This Winter Storm is expected to produce over 12 inches (or more) of snow, freezing rain, sleet, and ice. Residents should be prepared for power outages and utility disruptions. Extremely cold temperatures will remain after the snow stops.

o Recommended emergency supplies: food, water, flashlight, batteries, phone chargers, first aid kit, extra pet food, fire extinguisher, and extra blankets. Refill prescriptions before the storm if possible.

o Do not run generators/gas grills inside, they produce carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless gas that will kill you. Do not use ovens and stoves to heat your home.

o Keep exhaust vents for natural gas appliances like water heaters, furnaces and fireplaces clear of snow and ice to prevent carbon monoxide buildup.

- Report all power outages to PECO at 800-841-4141. Do not call 911 to report a power outage unless there is a life-threatening emergency.

- Do not drive over downed powerlines as they can still be energized.

- Please call 911 for all emergencies during the storm.

- Check on elderly neighbors and friends during the storm as they may need extra help.
