It’s been a while since we’ve posted, but we’re still here and still deeply committed to our mission!
We’re currently updating our website to highlight the incredible humanitarian work we've been part of over the last four years. Stay tuned—we can’t wait to share these stories with you. We’re also excited to announce that we’ll be returning to Nepal in October 2025 to continue our partnership with Mahila Shakti Bikash Kendra Nepal, a powerful women’s organization making lasting change in their communities.
In the coming month, we’ll kick off a fundraiser to help them raise the final $15,000 needed to complete their community program office. Every dollar will directly support this vital work, and we hope you’ll join us in making it happen.
Thank you for walking this journey with us—more updates coming soon! 💛🌍

Thank you for your continued support we have raised more than half of our goal so far. The pictures are below are of our two previously built community centers. The most recent build has an outhouse. This allows the women’s group to rent out space.

As you may have heard, there was a significant earthquake in the western part of Nepal earlier this weekend. I have spoken with our friends in Kathmandu, and none of our women’s groups were affected by the earthquake. We continue to stay in contact to support our women’s groups needs. Our humanitarian efforts continue.

I was so excited to receive this from Nepal this morning. Your donations supported another Women’s Training Center! This women center has been three years in the making! The last two pictures are of the outhouse which is necessary and mandated by the local community for rental space.

Namaste Maria! I just received this hall built by the women's group in Tanahun Barah Khola. The construction materials and the transportation cost was high therefore they used galvonized wire to complete the hall.

We are excited to announce that we have received the funds from Facebook which were raised on . We were lucky to receive a 10% match for those donations that were donated between 8 AM and 8 PM that evening. We will be working with our counterparts in Nepal to release these funds and support women’s economic growth. Thank you all for your continued support.

Ama Chhori Foundation of Hope: Who We Are and How We Started

Nepal. When I think of it, I am struck anew by the beauty of the land and the happiness of its people. I hear the sweet music of the sitars and flutes, even in the Villages. And I imagine once again the sky that seems to go on forever, especially at night after the sun disappears over a forever horizon.

Nepal is like no other place on earth.

I was introduced to Nepal in March, 1985 when I arrived as a Peace Corps volunteer after college. I stepped off the plane thousands of miles from home and instantly felt … well, home. We were there to fulfill the Peace Corps Mission to promote world peace and friendship by fulfilling three goals:

To help the people of interested countries in meeting their need for trained men and women.
