Designed nearly two centuries ago by Adolphe Sax, the expressive possibilities of the saxophone are seemingly inexhaustible. Virtuosic saxophonist Jonathan Hulting-Cohen, Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, presents an eclectic program with Jiayan Sun at the piano.Saxophonist Jonathan Hulting-Cohen and pianist Jiayan Sun present 300 Years of Fantasies in Music. Drawing freely from classic music across time and nationality, these works reimagine existing melodies and celebrate the joy of letting loose! Music by Telemann, Schumann, Debussy, Chen, and more, including the Carmen Fantasy by Pablo de Sarasate.

City Island (US, 2009)

Vince Rizzo (played by Andy Garcia) is a prison guard who wants to quit his job to become an actor. But first, he needs to make up for lost time with Tony, his long-lost son, who is an inmate where he works. He suggests that the ex-convict move in with his wife, Joyce (Julianna Margulies), and their 2 children. But Vince neglects to tell his family that Tony is really the son he fathered before he met Joyce. This leads to a series of comic misunderstandings. A discussion will follow the film.

Founded in 1872, the Orpheus Club of Philadelphia is one of the longest-standing, independent, male choral societies in America and since then the Club has been a prominent fixture in the social and cultural life of Philadelphia. Its a capella group also was a mainstay in the early seasons of the Eagles Mere Friends of the Arts, and we are so happy to welcome them back to celebrate our 50th anniversary! This is FREE event, no ticket is needed.

​As part of this event, you are welcome to join us for a celebratory reception after the concert as we wind down our historic 50th anniversary season.

Since 2015, Laura Delano and Bob Celli have produced five short films. They have been fortunate to enjoy great collaborations with talented casts, crews and production teams. Watch their first film, Figs for Italio (2015) and latest film, Because I Love You (2024), which Bob wrote, acted in, and directed. Following each film, the audience will have the opportunity to discuss the film with Laura and Bob. If time permits, a third film will be shown which was inspired by Laura’s grandmother.

Laura and Bob met as actors while performing in an off-off Broadway show in New York City. They branched out from acting in 1995, forming DelanoCelli Productions, to produce new works and revivals of plays that they found compelling and challenging. They later entered film work after Bob wrote, directed, acted in and produced his first film, Going Home with a friend.
