Join us for a kid-sized hike (1.5 miles) along the Ice Age Trail collecting (non-candy) treats from trees we find along the way. Costumes encouraged but make sure you can hike in them! Mileage counts towards the Ice Age Trail’s Mammoth Hike Challenge.

Choose from six Ice Age Trail segments in the Southern Unit:

🥾 Blackhawk: 7.0 miles
🥾 Blue Spring Lake: 7.1 miles
🥾 Stony Ridge: 3.1 miles
🥾 Eagle: 5.6 miles
🥾 Scuppernong: 5.6 miles

That gives you 33 miles of options within the Southern Unit alone!

🚗 Enjoy the beauty, variety and unique geology of southeastern Wisconsin along the 115-mile Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive, stretching from Whitewater Lake to Elkhart Lake.

🍂 As the leaves begin to change, it’s a great way to experience the rolling hills, forests and fall colors of the Kettle Moraine from a different perspective.

🌼A great afternoon of volunteering at Ottawa Lake!

Yesterday, a group of volunteers spent the afternoon collecting native seeds in the prairie at Ottawa Lake Recreation Area. A few late season bloomers were still showing off while the group gathered seeds from native species including Coneflower, Monarda, Catmint, Brown-Eyed Susan, Quinine and more.

🌿 Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped support native plant restoration in the Kettle Moraine State Forest - Southern Unit!
