“Arrested: Ulisses Macareno, 18, Meridian

Charges: Murder 1 -Aiding and Abetting

Arrested: Juvenile, 17

Charge: 1st Degree Murder

Boise Police have arrested two suspects in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Boise on August 30, 2026.

An investigation by Boise Police Violent Crimes Detectives led to suspect, Ulisses Macareno, 18, and a 17-year-old male who is not being named because he is a juvenile. Detectives obtained arrest warrants for both suspects and today September 3, 2026, Macareno was arrested with assistance from Meridian Police at a home in Meridian and booked into the Ada County Jail on the listed charge. The 17-year-old suspect was also arrested with assistance from Caldwell Police and Nampa Police at a home in Caldwell and booked into Canyon County Juvenile Detention. Evidence indicates the 17-year-old fired a weapon during the shooting and Macareno was driving the vehicle.

“Investigations like this take time, and the work our detectives put in to identify these suspects and gather the evidence needed to make arrests is significant,” said Boise Police Chief Chris Dennison. “We’re also grateful for the assistance from our law enforcement partners in Meridian, Caldwell and Nampa, as well as the members of our community who provided information to help move this investigation forward.”

The investigation remains ongoing. Boise Police would like to thank the public for their assistance and for providing information related to this investigation.”

🪽 🙏🏽 Prayers for the wife and two young children of Warm Springs Georgia Police Sergeant Chris Fisher. Sgt. Fisher was ambushed and murdered yesterday, as he sat in his patrol car after finishing an unrelated traffic stop. The suspect pulled alongside his patrol car, and shot the sergeant. He died at the scene. The suspect fled and later ate a bullet from his own gun, as one last act of cowardice in his pathetic life. Sadly, Sgt. Fisher had arrested the coward one week prior, for trafficking ma*****na while armed with a firearm, and resisting arrest. As seems to be typical, the suspect was able to be bonded out of jail, and apparently hunted down the sergeant to ambush him.

🔺 Last night around 9pm (Sept 1st), deputies responded to a welfare check on Deer Flat Road. Upon arrival, they located a 47 year old male and a 57 year old male deceased. They are investigating the incident as a murder-suicide involving two brothers, and there doesn’t appear to be any ongoing threat to the public.

“Boise Police Violent Crimes detectives are continuing to investigate the fatal early morning shooting that occurred on August 30, 2026. Detectives do not believe the victim in this shooting was the intended target. However, evidence indicates the shooter was likely targeting the party and one or more attendees. Detectives are working to identify the target and the suspect. We are continuing to urge anyone who was at the party but has not spoken with police to please come forward.

Detectives also want to hear from rideshare drivers who completed drop-offs and pickups at or near the party on W. Clement Road during the hours of 2:30 am - 6 am. If you have information, photos or video that may be related to this incident, please contact Ada County Dispatch at 208-377-6790. Our investigators are currently following up on all available leads and incoming tips.

The victim’s identity will be released by the Ada County Coroner pending notification of next of kin.”

🔺 Pocatello PD personnel are investigating a Suspicious Death in the 800 block of Park Avenue. They responded to the location earlier this afternoon, and found a male deceased at the scene. They are treating the death as suspicious. Officials did say there is no known threat to the general public, as they continue to conduct their investigation.

🛑 Press Release:

“On August 30, 2026, just before 6 a.m. Boise Police and Boise Fire responded to a report of a shooting victim at a residence on the 3900 block of W. Clement Road. Upon arrival officers located an adult female gunshot victim on the front porch of the home. There were a large number of occupants inside of the home when officers arrived and the suspect’s identity and location were unknown. Officers secured the area, evacuated the home, cleared each room, and contacted each witness on scene. Boise Fire crews and Ada County Paramedics performed life saving measures on the victim, but she sadly died from her injuries on scene. There were no other reported injuries.

Evidence indicates there was a party happening at the home when an unknown suspect drove by in a sedan style vehicle and fired multiple shots at the residence. At the time of the incident, the home was being used as a short term, vacation rental. Investigators have canvassed the surrounding area for additional witnesses, information, and video. The investigation is ongoing.

Boise Police Violent Crimes Unit detectives are asking anyone who was at the home before or at the time of the shooting but left before officers arrived to contact Ada County Dispatch at 208-377-6790.”
