Scouts with Troop 229 just spent 4 days camping off the Denali Highway, 6 hours from Eagle River. While there they earned their fishing merit badge, hiked to a lake at the top of the mountain valley, did several hours of service projects to improve the trails, gold panned, cooked gourmet meals, and bonded with each other.

In Alaska our scouts learn to camp in all weather conditions. The cold winters don't slow our scouts from adventuring outside for scouting activities. Some of our scouts working towards getting frost points last night braved the extreme cold temperature of -23Ā°f and earned 55 frost points. Several scouts are on track to getting to 300 frost points. šŸ„¶
