Mother's Day Breakfast (Sun May 10), Post 2 of 2-- Over the past few weeks, our Grange Hall has been in the process of being painted. This is the first breakfast event where our patrons have seen the results.

Wayne Marshall, who has been a member since 1952, says "The building has never looked so good."

Member Shirley Wade says that "The building feels loved now."

The Oregon State Grange has provided "matching grant" funding to make this renovation possible. Our Grange members have put in hundreds of labor hours, scaping off old paint, replacing rotted wood & broken window panes, etc.

The main changes in appearance are due to the charcoal-colored outlines on the window framing, eaves, and bricks around the first floor.

Mother's Day Breakfast (Sun May 10), Post 1 of 2-- Our "largest attendance" of 2026! We continued our recent tradition of serving mimosas and holding an auction/raffle of hanging flower basket (courtesy of Four Seasons Nursery on Hwy 62). Everyone had a good time today.

Sorry I didn't get more photos, but I was acting as the main chef today.

$7590 – What a night! This is the amount of money donated to the Lake Creek Rural Fire Protection District by attendees to the May 2nd Fundraiser. This is enough money to purchase seven (7) fully stuffed fire hose packs.

This Fundraiser was organized by Lake Creek Firewise, and co-sponsored by Lake Creek Fire, Lake Creek Historical Society, and Lake Creek Grange.

After a free spaghetti dinner, served up by the Firefighters, Dan Fennell (President of Lake Creek Firewise) kicked off the festivities and introduced the speakers.

Key Take Aways from the Speakers:

Craig Anders (Lake Creek Fire)– On the Salt Creek Fire, the Lake Creek Fire Dept was the first responding agency. They laid down all their hoses to line the fire. As a result, they had no hoses left to fight any additional fires that might start in the Greater Lake Creek area.

Herb Johnson (ODF)– Provided an outlook on the 2026 Wildfire season. Reminded attendees that ODF will provide FREE fire readiness assessments of their property. This is service is provide with “no strings attached” and does not commit the property owner to anything. It is meant to be useful information for the property owner.

Keith Mapes (Board Member, Lake Creek Rural Fire Protection District)– The District wants your input of what level of service you’d like to see from Lake Creek Fire. He encouraged everyone to attend one or more on the monthly Board meetings to have an opportunity to ask questions and tell Board members what you think. 3rd Wednesdays, 6pm, Pioneer Hall.

Following is a list of the donors for both the Live & Silent Auctions. Please thank them for their contribution to our Fire Protection District the next time you utilize their services.
