Who We Are:
Art Works Eagan (AWE) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization being formed in Eagan, Minnesota for the purpose of providing working artists with the space, community, and programming which are necessary for successful practice. Further, AWE will serve as a centralized hub for artists, the community, and existing arts organizations in Eagan to connect and network with each other. We pla
n to offer studio space to artists at private, semi-private, and communal levels, as well as general community gathering space for a variety of art programming, events, performances, and other educational opportunities. AWE will also include art retail space and a fine art gallery to promote the work of local artists and provide the desired service to the public. Core Programming:
Studios for Working Artists - studio space will be offered on a private, semi-private or communal space basis. Arts Organization Support and Connection - local arts organizations such as the Dakota Center for the Arts, Eagan Art House, and Eagan Artist Connect will be able to use AWE as a focal center for program planning, joint community efforts and support for arts education. Resource and Networking Center for Working Artists - working artists, both AWE members and non-members, will be able to utilize AWE’s consolidated resources and network to enhance their businesses and art form. Art Retail Space - local artists will be able to sell their work in a brick-and-mortar space year round, and likewise, the community will have a place to purchase local, handmade art in person year round. Fine Art Gallery - the first of its kind in Eagan, the fine art gallery at AWE will attract community members and local educational institutions as an opportunity to gain artistic perspectives and learning, and will further allow local artists to share their work with the community. Inclusive Programming:
Performance Space - the performance space will be available for a wide variety of events and opportunities, such as a venue for small theater groups, lectures, dance and music performances, and poetry or other short story readings. Community Gathering - the community and conference room spaces will be available for a wide variety of events supporting community connectedness. Workshops - may be held in community or conference room spaces, hosted by individuals or various groups both within and outside of the Eagan community.
