✨ Wednesday Wish ✨

Today, we’re wishing for something every child needs… every single day.

Shoes that fit.

We’re currently seeing a big need for older kids and we’re running low on the sizes that are hardest to keep on our shelves.

The truth is…
When shoes are too small, worn out, or missing altogether, it impacts everything—from confidence to comfort to simply getting through the school day.

At Kaitlyn’s Kloset, we believe every child deserves to walk in feeling confident, supported, and cared for.

💜 Our biggest need right now:
• New or gently used big kids shoes
in sizes 1–6.

❄️ Sunday Update from Kaitlyn’s Kloset

Due to blizzard conditions, Kaitlyn’s Kloset will be closed Monday, March 16 to keep our volunteers and families safe.

We plan to reopen Wednesday at 10:00 AM and look forward to serving families again then.

As always, your generosity keeps our shelves stocked for local kids who need us. Right now we are especially in need of:

🥫 Canned vegetables

🍜 Easy meals & soups
(Examples: Chef Boyardee, ramen, Hormel Compleats)

🥣 Baking ingredients
(Flour, sugar, oil — no baking mixes please)

👕 Clothing
• 24 months – Youth 18 shorts & skirts
• 24 months – Youth 18 t-shirts & tank tops

Spring is right around the corner, and the needs at Kaitlyn’s Kloset are starting to change. ☀️

Many of the families we serve are preparing their children for the changing seasons, and right now we’re seeing a growing need for warm-weather essentials.

If you happen to be cleaning out drawers or shopping for spring clothes this week, consider picking up one extra item for a child in our community. 💜

This week, our highest needs include:

☀️ Juice boxes
☀️ Sun hats
☀️ Tank tops & t-shirts (children’s sizes 24 months and up)
☀️ Shorts (children’s sizes 24 months and up)
☀️ Youth-size sandals or flip flops

These simple items help children head into spring and summer feeling comfortable, confident, and ready to play.

When donating clothing, we kindly ask that items be in excellent, like-new condition; something you would feel proud to give to a child you love. This helps ensure every child who visits Kaitlyn’s Kloset can choose items that make them feel good.

Donations can be dropped off during our normal open hours this week at the Kaitlyn’s Kloset Resource Center. For hours and location information, please visit kaitlynsklosetmn.org.

To allow our volunteers time to process donations, we kindly ask that donations be dropped off at least 15 minutes before closing.

We also hope you’ll join us this Wednesday for a fun and easy way to support local families at our fundraiser at Las Tortillas Mexican Restaurant! (Dine-in and takeout)

Friday Fun Fact! 💜

In 2025, Kaitlyn’s Kloset served 1,880 children in our community.

When families visit Kaitlyn’s Kloset, they can shop for the essentials their children need; including clothing, socks, underwear, personal care items, and even food.

It’s about so much more than tangible goods though. It’s about helping families leave with the basics, dignity, and a little less stress.

💜 Wednesday Wish 💜

As the seasons begin to change, so do the needs of the families we serve.

While we carry clothing for all seasons in our shopping room, the demand for heavy winter gear naturally slows as we head into spring. Right now, families are asking for items that help their kids navigate rainy mornings, muddy playgrounds, and cool, windy afternoons.

Because of that, we are no longer accepting winter gear (snowpants, winter coats, snow boots, mittens, scarves, and winter hats) at this time and are shifting our focus to spring needs. 🌷 However, we still will accept cold weather clothing (pants, sweatshirts, long sleeve shirts, etc).

Our Wednesday Wish this week is:

☔ Raincoats
👢 Rain boots
🌬️ Windbreakers

Sizes needed: Infant through Youth 18

We kindly ask that all items be in excellent condition — clean, gently worn, and with fully working zippers and closures.

When you give, you’re helping a child step outside ready for recess, ready for school, and ready to just be a kid — rain or shine.

It’s Sunday 💜 And that means we’re sharing what our families need most right now.

Every week, you show up in the most beautiful ways. Because of you, children in our community are cared for, comforted, and clothed with dignity.

Here’s what’s especially needed this week:

🍼 Bottles (with all parts, not cloudy)
🩵 Pacifiers (can be used)
👶 Bibs (new or in excellent condition)
🥞 Pancake syrup
🍓 Jelly/Jam

These simple, everyday items make a real difference — from early morning bottles to weekend pancakes around the table. 💜

We are open regular hours, and donations can be dropped off during that time. Please note we stop taking donations 15 minutes before we close.

Today we are especially in need of youth clothing sizes 6–18 in excellent condition. We are gratefully accepting all seasons right now because kids grow in every season, and need confidence in every season, too. 💜

At Kaitlyn’s Kloset, we believe deeply in donations with dignity. Every child deserves clothing that makes them feel proud, not picked over. That means items should be free of rips, stains, holes, excessive wear, and odors. If you wouldn’t gift it to someone you love, it’s probably not the right fit for our shelves.

Your thoughtfulness matters more than you know.

Kaitlyn's Kloset - MN is proud to have a program called Food For All which allows the organization to source culturally specific foods to have for families to pick from at the Resource Center. Happy Sunday, friends 💜

Before we get to the pie… a few important updates for the week ahead:

🗓 We will have regular hours this week.

👕 HIGH NEED: Sizes 24 months through Youth 18.
Our 6–18 shelves are almost empty, and some sizes are completely out.

🍼 Because of your incredible generosity, we are pausing donations of baby clothes in sizes newborn through 18 months.
At this time, we will ONLY be accepting sleepers in NB–18 months.

We promise to update you as soon as we’re able to accept those sizes again.

Okay… now for the part you’ve been waiting for. 🥧👀

Team Kaitlyn collected 794 brand-new items.
Team Kristen collected 988 brand-new items.

That’s 1,782 items going directly to local kids and families.

So yes… Team Kaitlyn lost.
And yes… there was pie involved. 😂

Kaitlyn took one right to the face because YOU showed up in the most incredible way.

But here’s the beautiful part…
When Team Kaitlyn “loses,” local kids win.

Because every brand-new item donated means:
✨ New clothes for a child starting over
✨ Diapers and wipes for parents trying to stretch every dollar
✨ Nonperishable food for a family’s pantry
✨ Personal care items that restore dignity and confidence

Behind the whipped cream is something much bigger than a friendly competition. It’s community. It’s generosity. It’s love in action.
